How long will the batteries last?

Description and product details differ. One says cable length and the other says cordless.

These fans are cool (hurr) but both of the ones that I have developed a "squeak" in the rotation within a year or two. Can't really lubricate it based on the depth of the mechanism in the plastic.

I've owned the white version for 4 years and it's still kicking strong , I just make sure to hit it with compressed air every couple of weeks just as a precaution since I have pets.

It's corded and it comes with a small remote that takes 2 AAA batteries.
