We have noticed a significant change in the cans that we've been getting from Sam's. Cats no longer lust for it and leave a lot behind. Lap up the liquid and leave the rest. Wife told me that they've changed the formula recently but I can't confirm.

Does she taste the cat food to know the difference?

I've heard this in my cat nutrition group, specifically many non-fish flavors that did not have fish added do now.

Also, there are reports from consumers that purina and other brands may be causing issues with pets, but nothing is confirmed. I haven't noticed anything, but keeping a large stock on hand I often have cases for 6-12 months before they are fed. So the food everyone else might have just bought and are feeding, mine wouldn't be served for a while.

yes with Fancy feast gravy foods—all 3 of my cats lick all of the gravy off of the meat and leave almost all of the tiny chunks of meat — makes me wonder about the meat they use.

Interesting. I buy this for my cat who will eat any and everything, from both Sam's and Amazon exclusively…for the past 7 years or so.

I noticed maybe mid to late last year that some of the cans I was giving her, she would hesitate to eat, or just leave outright. Had never seen that before so it did make me wonder.

Unfortunately no way of knowing (now) whether those instances were from Sam's or Amazon, but I will definitely be paying attention going fwd.

If formula was changed, it could simply be a supply chain issue for a particular ingredient, or more nefariously, ingredient subbed out for something cheaper and likely nastier.

This is true with a lot of Amazon food, too. Short exp date, but nothing is confirmed.

Huh, I set myself up for a 1month Subscribe and Save and it changed the cost to $8.96. I waited until I got to the checkout to check the Subscribe and Save and got a 40% discount vs. the 5% on the checkout page.

I tried the same but didn't get an additional discount. Congrats!

The same thing happened to my cat and Sheba salmon pate. She used to not get enough of it, and now she takes a whiff and walks away.

One of my cats is so picky on food it only eats one type of food. It would starve to death if I don't give the exact same one. I always have to keep a stash of that food. You would think in nature if you are hungry enough you will eat anything. That does not apply to cats.
