About this movie:
  • Director: James Cameron
  • Summary: 57 years after Ellen Ripley had a close encounter with the reptilian alien creature from the first movie, she is called back, this time, to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off against the sinister extraterrestrials. But this time, the aliens have taken over a space colony on the moon LV-426. When the colonial marines are called upon to search the deserted space colony, they later find out that they are up against more than what they bargained for. Using specially modified machine guns and enough firepower, it's either fight or die as the space marines battle against the aliens. As the Marines do their best to defend themselves, Ripley must attempt to protect a young girl who is the sole survivor of the nearly wiped out space colony.

Back in the day, had the $150 deluxe laserdisc Constant Angular Velocity version; each side was under 30 minutes and had to flip/change disks every time it ended. It was absolutely the best laserdisc we owned.

Amazing that for $5 we now have a MUCH higher quality and I no longer have to flip laser discs!
Game over, man! Game over!

RIP Bill Paxton
I can confirm with Vudu you do get both versions, but the Special Edition is under Extras, not as a separate movie.

I see two different versions on Vudu and it appears you are only buying one. So unless MA unlocks the other i am curious if you truly get both versions.

I snagged the iTunes version and the 1990 Special Edition/4K features shows up fine.

I'm assuming the same for VUDU when you grab the theatrical version, the 1990 Special Edition will be in the extras (might have to check the extras on Movies Anywhere)

In the AppleTV app it shows I have it with 4K and with iTunes Extra (both versions) but how do you access both version? When I play it, it just starts playing without asking?

Not 100% sure on Apple TV app but through iTunes, I just clicked on the 'iTunes Extras' marked in blue and the menu for the film shows up. See attached images for reference

Another easier way is just check the 'Extras' section on the Movies Anywhere platform to play any added bonus/features.

Hope that helps!

The VUDU bonus Special Edition is only HDX. Still worth it to me for the $5 upgrade of the theatrical version.

Thanks. I think Apple's apps are still pretty confusing and aren't very intuitive.
