While this is new, Amazon has the two-pack of refurbished 2nd gen contact sensors on sale for under $20 often. Have purchased a few of the refurb 2-packs and have not seen a difference between the refurb and new. I did receive a refurb with dead battery once. I replaced the battery and it worked normally. Did a chat with support and they ended up refunding me 20% of the purchase price to make up for the dead battery.

I have been patiently waiting for one on amazon or woot for some time and haven't seen one, although I see it has happened in the past Frown

I bought ring keypads from this company last month. While they appear to be new they do not come in the retail pack. So I would assume these may not come in retail packing either. The keypads marked as new on the webpage came in ziplock bags. It did have all the accessories.

Overall happy with the savings but just something to know.

In for one range extender. It's worth the price to see if Gen 2 is better than my 6-7 year old Gen 1 extender.

Do the contact sensors need additional equipment to get work? I don't have Ring products but would be interested in the sensors for this price.

How is the ring alarms system compared to a local monitor company like adt and guardian? Thinking about switching but not sure how this all would work out.

You need the ring base station which acts as the z-wave hub for these sensors. You should be able to use another z-wave hub as well.

I'm curious about that too. I've had good luck with A4C Ring products in the past.

I have an original Gen 1 extender. Its working fine for me so I won't bother upgrading, but please let us know if it seems better. Thanks!

If you use a hub that has Zwave like a Hubitat or Smarthings you can use the sensor by itself.

Yes, with a SmartThings hub. I have an Aeotec SmartThings hub, and these work well with the Milan Edge Drivers, specifically the Z-Wave Sensor Ring driver.

They need to have motion sensors back on sale. Realizing it's way more likely someone breaks a window to enter than busting a door or opening a window.
