Anyone know if the 1k load rating is "per strap" or "combined" for 500 each (?)

Not that it's very accurate anyways, but here're some Brickseek logins: https://bugmenot.com/view/brickseek.com

Switch the pick up store or ask for price match at your local warehouse.

I don't have specific experience with these. But they just appear to be regular tie downs with a 1,000 load limit. Do not compare these to the $8 harbor freight ones with a 400 lb load rating, they appear to be the same as the $25 set with the 1,000 lb rating except these have a fancy fake carbon piece on them.
Part of the load rating difference is the strap width: 1.25" instead of 1". The rating is higher because of the heavier strap. May also be because of the webbing construction as well.

I use my 1" HF straps a lot, and they work well (especially at $2.50 each on sale). These appear to be a step up in quality and capacity. Have no idea how durable the carbon fiber decoration of the handles is.

Will pick some up if I happen by Lowes, and post more comments after comparison.
