This is a REFURBISHED high end Epson Printer. I did a lot of research on this and believe it to be better than the similar Canon Megatank printer. The savings in cost of ink over the next 5 years will easily make this this cheaper option compared to the $200-300 non-ecotank or megatank printers.

Does this Epson refurbished printer included the free 2 years of ink (4 bottles) promo? I notice for the new model, it mentions it in the description, but it's not stated when you choose the renewed model.

How many bottles of ink does this even come with in the box (picture shows 8 but doubtful on that)?

Hey, I bought one and it arrived this afternoon. It comes with 8 bottles of ink. Please see attached picture. Box was not in the greatest shape but thankfully it was packaged well and does indeed appear to be premium condition. I don't think it was ever even used.

Anyone that has had this printer for a while wanna give their opinion on it? Wife wants inkjet, I want laser. At this price for a refurbished printer seems expensive to me. So I'd like to see what SDers has to say about it. Thanks!

Although I do not have this printer, I strongly recommend to stay away from this printer. No matter how pretty, durable/reliable, or sexy the printer can be, it is limited by the type of design and reliability of the printhead. This model the printhead is a PrecisionCore/uTFP2 and the reliability on them is trash after 2 months of pause printing. You are guarantee to throw them away after 2 months. If you only buy Epson if you need large format printing like 13x19 or printer with printhead of the old desig n from 2012. Yes, they still produce new printer with old printhead for a reason. Do not be Epson's guinea pig! If you do not need Epson, get Canon Maxify MB series. Walmart has Maxify MB2720 on sale for $130 atm. It has all the features of this printer and you can easily refill. See my older Epson related post for additional benefits of Canon. Come to printerknowledge forum if you need help!

Obviously I haven't used it yet but this guy has had it for 18 months and had the printhead issues you mentioned and still recommends the printer. That canon you linked is awful and not nearly in the same ballpark as far as print quality. Printheads can be replaced. Having said that, I don't want to replace them but I also don't want a printer that doesn't print well at its optimum settings. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to keep an eye on the print heads.

If I offered you a refurbished 2024 Tesla Model S with 5 miles on it for $55k instead of $80k you wouldn't take it because it is a refurb? Your argument is dumb. Some people like saving 30% and don't mind the refurb title.

You have to do the power cleaning, it's not in the menu. It's certain buttons you press and it does it. That makes it like new. Shame on Epson for not putting it in the menu though.

He needs to do the power cleaning. That clears the clogged print head.

Too late for this deal but I own 2 of the cheaper eco tanks (2850 & 4850) and can chime in on the print heads. The 4850 I've used at home for 3+ years, often going a month between prints and works perfect every time. Recently printed out addresses on 2000 envelopes. The 2850 I've only had a few months and is a great little printer, use it daily with no issues at work. Not sure why people hate the eco tanks but I'm a little sad I missed this deal for the big one.
