They are VERY comfortable, especially considering these are probably the lightest waterproof hiking shoes (gore-tex). I have worn many NB over the years, so I think these are not narrow for me. But depending on the shape of your feet, some may feel tightness because the upper is more padded. It will feel normal after you loose up the shoelace a bit.
I think these competes directly with Adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 goretex, but are lighter and priced better right now.
