fwiw if you get the install great but dont expect it to go thru, this is a scam. i purchased 4 tires and had them sent to my local firestone, cost at the time was an additional 50 bucks. when i went to get them installed they refused and said they dont do that, and ebay just randomly sends them tires they have nothing to do with the company sending them. they gave me my tires which i took and paid to get put on elsewhere. then i went to ebay to get my 50 bucks refunded to which the seller required pictures and other non existent proof for authorize a return. eventually got ebay to refund but was a huge hassle and cost me more in the long run.

But you get free tire rotation and tire warranty from Costco.

The biggest issue is that some of the tire sellers on ebay will either sell you old stock of tires or sell you tires that they claim are new which are really not.

Cool. I bought a set w/ free install at a local Firestone. All in, this works out to be about 25% cheaper than what I was going to spend for the exact same setup.

Fingers crossed the manufactured dates are recent.

Yes..., that's pretty much always done with any new tire install at any chain.

I have my own tire machines and DIY my mounting and balancing. Was hopeful that I could save $100 on the tires but this is not the case. I'd rather DIY and know its done right the first time then go waste an hour waiting at a shop to screw something up.

Everyone should really be doing their own tire rotations.
And everyone should also do their own taxes, mow their own lawn, install their own sink and bathtub, build their own house....

Is this deal legit? I found a set of (4) New 245/40ZR19 Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 H452 98Y - 9/32
$360.20 and the seller is UnitedTires. This is too cheap to be true and thinking of having them shipped to PepBoys with the free install code. Has anyone done this type of deal and from the seller before?

We don't all have that ability. I'm on my HOA in a Condo community and definitely cannot be rotating tires in my driveway.

Some places do free tire rotations regardless of whether you bought them there or somewhere else. American Tire Depot near me does free rotations and flat repair for anyone. Of course they'll probably try and upsell a service while you're there. I just got a quality pair of Laufenn (Hankook brand) tires installed for $450. Solid deal.
Interesting.

For my tire size, finding a quality tire @ 205/45R17 that matches what TireRack near me sells nets me nearly $100 more on eBay for the set of 4 and with ordering from TireRack I get a discount on the tire install .

So not sure if this is really a better deal, at least for me - but I think if you just want new rubber it can be a good deal if you get a lesser known name

Edit: I did manage to find a set of 145R10s for my Mini but the code doesn't apply to that set of tires despite being in the list Frown

Thank you so much.
I was browsing SD while waiting for my tires to be replaced at Discount Tire. Then I saw your posting. I asked them if I can get a price match (even though they already started working on the car). To my surprise, they agreed and refunded the installation fee. You saved me $94 with your posting.

I was looking at those exact tires and was about to bite until I did some research and found that they're useless in rain/snow so decided to pass. Perhaps that's why they're cheaper?🤷
