We have a Natural Gas furnace that was hard-wired to a simple on/off swtich. That hard-wire now plugs into an outlet with an on/off swtich. Lots of videos on how to do this. When the power goes out, I unplug the furnace cord and plug it into the Deta 2 with the Extra Battery.
Without telling my wife and without lowering the thermostat, I got 23 hours of power for the furnace in middle of winter. Key in mind, the motor on a gas furnace doesn't run 24/7. In the past 10 years, not that many outages and never longer than 6 hours. But never say never, just ask Texas. I also have a 1200 watt inverter for my car to recharge the Deta2, and a small 2400 watt gas generator/inverter. I'm not trying to survive Armageddon, or live off grid, just trying to make it through an outage and staying warm. Peace of mind.

Super interested in this as well. I'd love to have a power bank and a few solar panels to maybe power my router, pc equip and maybe a few light usage things for a few hours in the event of a power outage.
From pure specs, Delta 2 is better. Not sure if they justify the +87% increase in total cost though.
Any thoughts?

…Pepperidge Farms remembers
But seriously about $500 a piece is a better deal… I bought a refurb D2 extra battery for $329 during pres day sale to make up for my buying at retail remorse. I had seen how quickly the prices were dropping since my first purchase, and decided to wait it out for the extra battery.

That said, if you have 400W+ of solar power and good sun, it can do quite a lot over the course of a day, including running an AC unit - which would be nice for 'peak shaving' in the summer.
