Your chance of getting this is VERY ymmv. None of staples store sells gaming console. This must be one of those "purchased online and returned in store" thingy. Instead of shipping it back to warehouse, the manager decided to take the hit and sell it in store starting with couple bucks clearance discount. Once it's placed on clearance, it must be sold within time framez Majority online return are send back to warehouse. So, 99% staples stores may not have this. Kudo for you if you got it.

Not every employee is a scalper. Some may have absolutely no interest in gaming…like the middle aged woman that answered the phone when I called.

Just going to add that the average Staples employee makes about $10.30 an hour, and their discount is 10%. Even if these were widely available, underpaid people aren't usually going to be able to swing it.

I do agree with the never call though.

If they say "we sell Playstation", I could justify driving and giving it a chance. "we don't see gaming consoles" pretty much sums it up.

That makes sense. I was shocked indeed. Didn't think Staples sold gaming things but they had a selection of Playstation and Switch games and accessories as well as tags for the normal PS5 consoles. It was a total accidental find as I was actually looking at the keyboards & mice. That said I had been eying a PS5 of some flavor but still didn't like the normal retail prices. At this though it was a no brainer.

lol at our staples the manager walked out in the middle of the day with several employees. The place is slowly deteriorating. They deserve to flip this stuff if they want.

They had to rush in staff from the other location 40 miles away and was paying one of the guys an extra $50 for commute everyday
