Just contact buydig directly and you probably get a better price....
Step 1. Bid GT super low to see the current market price.
Step 2. Reach out to the 3 big authorized retailers directly, tell them you have an offer for x and can they beat it.
Step 3. Save more monies
good luck with returns or anything customer service related!
Also, I have this TV. It replaced a Sony A90J, and the improvements are not trivial. No regrets at all.
Side note - the G4 will be coming out in a couple of months. Early indications are it will be a bit brighter with the newest MLA panel, and will include a completely new processor that further leverages AI, but for most people it's probably not worth the price difference from what leftover G3s will likely be sold at (including this deal).

I'm not trying to nickel and dime the cost. But if we're only a couple of months away from the G4, how much more can the G3's drop in price?

You might get lucky and score an open box like I did (65" G2 for 1275) but likely nothing new unless it was marked down super low by accident like the hiccup in the Best Buy New Jersey stores where the 77" G2 rang up for 900 dollars.
No issues other than the "WTF have I done?" feeling I had until it was on the wall and function checked.
