It turns out there are secret button pushes to change equalizer modes on this thing:
https://youtu.be/ktjCIpky_Lg?si=-...Y4xY&t=267

hit volume up and phone simultaneously to cycle between 3 treble modes,

hit volume down and bluetooth simultaneously to cycle base modes in a similar fashion

It's still showing full price for me despite trying 2 different browsers...it's clearly marked as full price in my Cart at Checkout unfortunately.
Update: After failing with Chrome and Firefox, used Brave browser and I'm now seeing the discounted price in the Cart. Thanks folks for letting me know that the deal is still alive--much appreciated.

Has anyone used this speaker for their home theater? I've been eyeing soundbars within the $200-300 range but came across this deal. Now I'm wondering, should I go for a soundbar, or is this speaker a viable option for home theater use? Would love to hear if anyone has experience with this setup.
Not bad at all as long as a 2.1 system is fine for you.

Steal for that price. After a year or two battery will not last 30-45 minutes. I own three different versions. This is my fav. Inflated MSRP.

Bought 2 last year best speaker ever! My wife uses hers daily and has never had an issue. Use mine when working out. Great sound. Great quality!

Does it at least power off of AC adapter/plug when battery is dead?

This is not for home theater use. You'll have to manually turn it on, use aux or Bluetooth, it's going to be terrible for soundstage since it's so narrow compared to soundbars so you won't be able to tell if a sound is supposed to be on the left or right side unless you're inches from the speaker, and if you use Bluetooth, it's only SBC codec so you'll run into audio sync issues due to the latency, no remote for changing the volume, etc.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes, it has battery pack with 3 18650 in series as 3.7(norminal)x3=11.4v in easier access battery compartment after taking rear mesh off.

If you don't need wireless and want something for in the house use the HK Citation 500 for $229 is a beast.
Thanks! I saw that, don't think I need all those features tho, really just looking for the best sound. Speaker will mostly be used on my deck (under a roof)

Any of you speakerheads have thoughts on this vs Klipsch the One for $199??
I have both speakers. The HK Go+ Play 3 sounds better and is currently cheaper than the Klipsch The One.

The Go+ Play 3 has a wider soundstage, MUCH deeper/punchier bass, and can get louder with less distortion.

My only pro for the Klipsch is that it doesn't look like an oversized handbag

Anyone else fail to get a confirmation email? Was able to place an order but never got the email. Used the order # for an order status lookup and it says "no such order" for the details provided.
I have to wait a day to get a confirmation

I haven't had this long enough to know, does it auto power down if plugged in?

Because I am using onyx 2 and 4 models basically as soundbars through aux and they work fine with tvs that have headphone ouputs. The only time I have to turn them on is if there is a power loss, otherwise they stay on or the aux signal wakes them. They sound a lot better than any inexpensive soundbar, basically you would need a high end bar or a midrange one with a sub to compare. There's no real stereo effect but it is what it is. I'm doing this with a small kitchen and office tv and it's fine. And you can still play bluetooth to them taking priority over the aux in. Some use like that where stereo isn't that realistic to start with, it's fine.

So, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a sort of soundbar, but if you have a tv that needs one, and have the speaker anyways, it'd still be a huge benefit without much hassle as long as your tv has a headphone output. It would only cost you a 3.5mm cable to try it. Think of it as a fringe benefit that might work for ya, but don't buy it just for that.

The one problem I've had with the onyx is it seems to ping the bluetooth if a paired device is around, which will make a dropout in the aux audio. So I have to unpair it from my phone.

Man, it's basically an M12 battery. Imagine if you could just pop one of those in by accessing a port with a few screws.

Seriously a good electronics company should just make stuff like this compatible with tool batteries. The batteries are always the weak point. Imagine Milwaukee partnering with H/K making stuff styled like regular gear.
