evh was a skilled musician and enthusiast guitar player, he gravitated to stratocaster and then made the most tasteful fast shredding superstrat of all time. I usually buy squier and fender strats but I'm definitely pick up one of these babies with h pickup!

It's a great guitar. This is also cheap enough to where you can swap a couple things out, like the tremolo and tuners, to get it closer to the Special and still be well under the price of the Special. Then the only real differences will be the volume and tone pots (the volume on the Special acts almost like a killswitch and has a pretty quick cutoff, whereas the standard is your typical fading volume), and the wood. I've never done any tinkering with wiring, so I wouldn't know if you could swap out those pots for the ones matching the Special. Eddie was a great tinkerer, though, so you could definitely try to follow in his footsteps.

It's been a while now. Since July 2021 to be exact. Florida requires online retailers to collect sales taxes when selling/shipping to Florida residents, regardless of seller's location. There are some retailers, who still don't comply, but majority do.

I thought that was the case for *all* states now. Pretty sure I've been charged my home state's sales tax rate on everything I've purchased online for the past 10 years or so - and I've lived in a couple of different states in that timeframe.

It was SCOTUS decision back in 2018, that allowed all states to require to collect sales tax by out of state retailers, but each state implemented it separately. Florida implemented it later than some other states.
And some states started to do it before SCOTUS ruling.

I've seen this...more than once. My bass player snapped his Fender P-Bass doing a flip back in 1988. Flipped it around, the strap came undone, and it flew against the wall like a javelin behind him Applause
