The spouse/partner trick is unnecessary. Just sign up as though you are moving to your own address. I did it again yesterday and it worked the same as a year ago. Go to Xfinity.com (while NOT signed in) > Internet Deals. Enter address and it will recognize you have service there. Ignore the buttons for signing in or transferring service. Instead choose the option for new customer. Click through the plans and get your cart all tidy. Eventually you will come to a page asking you to either create an Xfinity ID or log into an existing; choose existing. It will even let you keep your autopay bank account the same. Shortly after submitting, you'll see a pending cancellation email and a thank you for your new order. Later (or in my case the next (this) morning), another email will give the cancellation date (several weeks out for me). Once the new modem arrives (if you chose one, which I did in order to get the $10 XFi complete), activate the new modem under the new account and it will automatically cancel your prior account at the same time. There will be some final prorations on the old account, and the new account will also have the opposite.

I'm guessing it's the same, age old trick with Comcast: if you don't get the answer you want from the rep you're talking to....try, try again.

(Totally guessing...) but it feels like the reps get bonused on the new accounts they sign up. So if you find the right rep, they'll have you cancel your current plan, then start on the new plan, and that rep would get the credit.

And don't ever feel like you're screwing over Comcast. I had Comcast Business for 1Gig for 2 years at $100 per month. The DAY that it ended, they jacked me up to $300 per month. I didn't notice it for 2 months. Once I did, I switched to regular Comcast for 900MB for $60. If I didn't cancel, they would have happily charged me $300/mo for my service I'm now getting for $60.

If they're offering it...you deserve it. Good luck!

Has anyone been successful getting this pricing applied to a current/active account?
Any tips/tricks?

Happened with xb7 modem. It became so bad that I had to swap it. Store guy gave me xb8 and so far so good. For this promotion they usually give xb3 model, but I negotiated to get the newer one.
Will look what I have. But may do what you did and go bug them for a better one. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Do the ol' cancel & sign up again with a different name trick. You get a week or more of free internet after you cancel - sign up after a week after cancellation under a new name and just activate it when they cut you off.
ok, so if I call today and cancel on 2/29... I'll still have a few days of service??? and then when that stops, sign up on line as new customer under hubby name? only 'downside' I guess it we'd loose our 'diamond' reward status, but haven't used it anyway.
Do they make you set up an 'install'?

No need to try again. Setup a disconnection date and wait for the calls from retention to roll in.
do they do that tho?

My previous 2-year deal was expiring - now for the past 15+ years, i've always been able to go into the store, say thing are getting expensive, and walk out with a retention deal same as new customers. Or actually for the last 4-5 years, could even just log in online and get the new customer deals that would pop up in my existing account anyways.

Can confirm these prices for new customers my SF Bay area neighborhood, 2-year rate, no term contract. But this time, there were no good deals for existing customer when I logged in, and I read in another forum that the store employees no longer have any power to offer retention deals. Since AT&T Fiber just landed on my street in the last 12 months, I decided to give it a try - there's no contract, so I can switch back to Xfinity anytime. Here are the new customer rates for both:
$40 400/10 Xfinity Fast (BYOD)
$50 400/100 Xfinity Fast (w/modem)
$55 300/300 AT&T Fiber
$60 800/20 Xfinity Superfast (BYOD)
$65 500/500 AT&T Fiber (actual 600/600)
$65 1000/35 Xfinity Gigabit (BYOD)
$70 800/100 Xfinity Superfast (w/modem)
$75 1000/100 Xfinity Gigabit (w/modem)
$80 1000/1000 AT&T Fiber
So confirming $50 for 400Mbps from OP also includes optional 24-months free for their modem (my last one was XB8) and unlimited data; or $10 less if you bring your own modem.

Xfinity 100 Mbps upload with their modem only because they enabled mid-split upgrade on my street, which is not widespread; otherwise upload speed is the same as BYO modem (so only benefit for their modem is no data cap for most).
where do you find the deals 'online' - cuz when I log into my Account I just see the high prices, not any deals Frown

Yes, there is a choice to choose a future date. It said something like "I'm not ready yet...schedule a later date". I didn't do that, knowing that the modem would take 3-5 days to show up and that they wouldn't actually cancel service on the old account right away. The pending cancellation shows something like 3/8, but from past experience, the old account will be hard-canceled the moment the new modem is activated against the new account.

As I stated, "there were no good deals for existing customer when I logged in" this time. So those were past years when I could find those online. The prices I posted are new customer pricing for Xfinity, just for reference.

Just switched to fidium fiber...$55 per month including modem/router fir 1GB speeds and unlimited data. We were nearing the 1.2TB with xfinity every month and it was annoying having to be careful or throttle ur own viewing at the end of the month.

The 100 Upload speed with their equipment would have been nice when I had them. Still ended up switching to the 300/300 Fiber due to hitting the data cap. Xfinity really needs to tier the data caps with their data plans and up their upload speeds to 100 for customers bringing in their own modem.
