They cut loose the 8 and X models this cycle. The remaining X lineup and the 11s might be dumped this fall. So maybe a year and a half for the 12s, but could be 2.5 years. Just my best guess.

I got caught by surprise when they pulled the plug on my 6s - a few months after I paid Apple to put in a new battery. It still has 100% battery health.

I'd still be using that 6s if not for the fact that you have to have an iPhone with the latest iOS to be able to update your Apple Watch. And my Apple watch is the best thing since sliced bread.
Current iOS 17 is available on XR (released in 2018). So 12 pro should get updates for at least 3 more years.
80% battery health is not great, I consider 90+ to be good and 95+ to be awesome

Security does not count. most people dont want to be on an older IOS.
That's not what you wrote. "Lose software support soon" is incorrect when security patches and bug fixes are still considered support.

Well iPhone X lost support already, 11 and XR will next year and then 12 in 2 yrs. I dont consider 2 yrs to be a very long time for software support.

please do your research before thumbs downing a comment
XR was released in 2018, 11 came in 2019. Its highly unlikely 11 would lose support next year.

I haven't thumbed down any comment wtf
