I was super against vegan anything until realizing my cholesterol was very high even while taking a weak statin and changing up my diet and adding even more daily exercise. Turns out the ON whey and Premier whey I was guzzling down has a load of cholesterol.

Not sure if vegan protein will make a difference but it's worth a shot. Hopefully it's not as chalky as the Owyn, which put me off vegan protein in the first place.

The best vegan protein that I have found is Huel Black. I only use one scoop instead of the 2 in the serving so the bag provides a decent number of servings. The strawberry shortcake favor is delicious. If you are looking to cut cholesterol, I recommend you look at Earth Balance butters to replace your butter and margarine. The Whipped butter tub is better than any other margarine on the market that I've tried. Good luck on your journey!

Too bad it has all the gums in it. Lots of people's stomachs won't agree with that. For something your going to drink pretty quickly who cares what the texture is?

Holy smokes, someone on slickdeals giving helpful and friendly advice instead of sending me a DM telling me to delete myself or posting a stupid reply?! Repped!

I also found this very helpful PDF from cleveland clinic about butter and some alternatives https://health.clevelandclinic.or...H-1465.pdf

High sodium
Good call. I don't typically look at sodium for protein. That's way too high.

Genuinely curious why you were against vegan anything?

Hopefully this helps with your cholesterol. I had high cholesterol and went fully plant based. I strayed so far from cholesterol containing foods that I had too little. I started eating about a handful of well balanced plant based cholesterol containing foods and upped my omega3s and I have pristine results from all nutrition blood tests.

What are the pros/cons of vegan protein powder?
As a vegan, the main "pro" for me is the lack of animals or animal products in it. Based on how milk cows are treated, in general, I wouldn't eat anything derived from animal milk. That's my own personal choice.
I assume this will be an unpopular answer, but since you asked...

I was wondering why I feel so bloated time I've had this. I think I may need to return it. Super gassy and I didn't know the gums did that.

Plus environmental, plus lower chronic disease risk (evidence based)

Lack of cholesterol is a pro, not that regular protein is super high in it versus some meat sources of protein.

Anyone know how this tastes?
If you need the protein in your diet you most likely need those cholesterol also.

Only reason I prefer pea protein is cause I'm lactose intolerant
Try whey, they are very low lactose even though it's a milk byproduct. And if you are sensitive, focus on whey isolate. - there are a few different forms of whey protein powder out there and the isolate has the least lactose in it
