We track the kids via their backpacks on field trips. We also got one in each vehicle. All of them have the speaker removed since it gets annoying when the person that has the main account is not with you and it ends up beeping over and over as it alerts. Kind of pointless anyway when we are using them as tracking devices.

We have one inbeded in our toddlers shoe.

We also use them when our preteen is at the mall with friends.Used them at Great America and Disney.

Kid off to college has one in his car. We had to track his missing truck one night and found it in the impound as he was parked in a tow zone.

Comes in handy when traveling as we also put in our laugage.

Basically, any iphone with in range will sync to it and relay the location to you. Works very well.

Great idea of putting in the shoe. Did you hollow out from the inside? Did you put any over it to not feel the material difference? Reminds me of the Nike run shoes that had a removable foam plug to add in the step counter (before smart watches).
