Probably will work for others as they claim so on packaging (probably not Dewalt though). From owning a Bosch quick change 3.0 Amp multitool the reason it required Star thing was because it locks the blade with inside spreading half ring shaped tabs, if the blades are not Star whatever the hole will be larger thus making proper locking impossible and adapters wouldn't be a solution because they would add thickness therefore not letting blade to be locked as well (this is also a reason it might not work with Dewalt quick change because they need cutout in the blade base to slide it to locking position).
Since then I tried Milwaukee, Hitachi, Dewalt and for now use M18 Fuel as mu favorite mainly due to much smaller vibrations/shaking on the hands. Dewalt had similar quick change system but faster due to easier to operate locking lever but I hated press trigger that required to hold to operate AND it was variable based on how hard so sometimes that lead to bad results when I tried to change grip/position. Hitachi was slightly tricky system to unlock because you need to twist one part to release the locking bolt and twist again after change as well but still faster than Milwaukee one I think because it requires level pulling then untwisting the middle bolt but considering how often I change blades I opted for comfort of using over blade change speed.

Works on any starlock multi-colored. I use the bosch blades on my Makita. I buy the 10 packs on Amazon and get them around $7 a pop for this same style. This is a good deal if you don't go threw a bunch like do. These Bosch blades are the best I have found for holding up and to cutting through nails. The fien blades are great but one nail strike and ots missing teeth.

Attach probably yes but you need a cut out in the blade mounting base to slide it in place without need to mess with undoing the middle. Personally I didn't like the trigger on it though but I think they now designed one version that has switch and trigger operation.

For one blade... Gotta love starlock. Lol

I wonder why starlock multi tools don't sell.
https://fein.com/fileadmin/MediaD...e_2021.pdf

Which tool brands aren't Starlock compatible?...
Fein, bosch, craftsman, Hitachi, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee, Rigid, Rockwell, Ryobi, Skil...

For the other brands that for whatever insane reason aren't compatible, why not?

Makers can design a head that's compatible with Starlock and non-Starlock tools...

Skil.
Doesn't care - starlock or not. Generally all fits.
Quick release, too. 1/4 turn on lever.

No. A few multitools have quick release of blades. All work about the same. Turn lever, blade can drop out. Insert new blade, align notches in blade to tool, turn lever to lock.

I got the ryobi brushless with quick change when they first came out. Changing blades requires a lever flip and slide the retainer at the blade. At first I had a little trouble with it but now I find it easy. I've lost a blade one time but it was my fault for orienting it in an unacceptable position. It's a really loud tool that I use a lot doing regrouts in showers where it seems more like a professional torture device. I wear ear plugs and ear muffs, I think it transmits through your bones. I warn nearby people and get a lot of feedback about the sound level. It's also really hard on the hands with a lot of vibration coming through the tool to the user instead of the work. I've never tried bosch blades but used a bunch of others and they all suck IMO. I've looked for starrett but they don't make these. Looks like Diablo are as good as can be expected.

It depends which blades and for what. For majority that doesn't require aggressive/fast cuts I like to use carbide tipped since they last longest as long as you don't try to fight the screw or similar hardness material.
As far as the noise/vibration maybe give a try to Milwaukee M18 or M12 Fuel ones to see if they're better suited for the work you do.
