The chip is comparable to the i7-1185G7, which is a lot of power for the type of people that purchase this. Combine the smoothness of OSX with a chip of this caliber and it'll outperform windows in responsiveness and battery life.

Which windows machine offers this power, portability and efficiency? The M1 is still competitive which was my original point.

Costco had the M2 for $799(although it was last month and no Time Machine yet lol)and refurb M2 excellent for $779 on eBay. Not sure if would say this is a great deal unless you're in the market specifically for this version.

I paid $2300 for my MacBook pro m1.... just because a new chip is out doesn't mean this is useless. I mean you could always buy a windows for $500 or less but I've never seen a MacBook at that price

If I knew how long Apple would continue to update this laptop it would be much easier to make a decision to buy it or not. This laptop might have only two more years of updates before Apple stops supporting this model.
