Yes they do that out of the box, no need for jailbreak. But why would you get an Xbox for that? People used to do that like 10yrs ago. Just get some sort of cheap pc or Mac mini used and hook up and hard drive. Xbox will work but it's not practical in 2024
Yes- hands down a steal! Been playing FC24 (trial), MLB The Show, Forza, Halo Infinite, all on Game Pass. I have no idea what those PS5 folks keep yapping about and I seriously don't want to dedicate the time to even hear it.
Wow this is an absolute steal. Basically a $600+ gaming computer for $200

People moaning about this deal are wack. Probably same people talking that Nvidia shield from 2019 is a good deal at 190 on Amazon a little while back. Oh and can't forget a great deal for a Switch at 280.00. Sigh... I have a series X and s and Rog Ally along with a Swiych and ryzen 7 mini PC. The series s is a great machine at this price point. No brainer for anyone even remotely interested.
The guy you responded to never said that this wouldn't be supported in the future. He was simply pointing out that you're likely to have even more game compromises in the future as games get more complex. The Series S is already a large step down in performance/graphics compared with Series X and PS5 and in the future when they are making more complex games this will be even more apparent.
Dude stop acting like you can read his mind. Also, Microsoft (appropriately) wants near-full parity between X and S versions of games - the main difference should be resolution and not much else.
Man. I missed out on it because I was too busy reading a soap opera unfold in the comments. Jesus guys, you're all arguing over a deal on a video game console. You really need to get away from the Internet for a bit.
Too many comments to go through (traveling). I have an Xbox Series X in my living room with 15 downloaded games. Can I purchase this Series S to use on my bedroom TV and download a few of the same games on the Series S that I bought and downloaded on my Series X? I do not have Gamepass and will be using both consoles on the same Microsoft/xbox account.
I'm surprised the price held up and even went up lately on these things! Guess pushing gamepass and digital only is working. Good for them, been looking to get back into a series S or X. Have PS5 and a billion handhelds but gamepass is sweet for trying out new games and always wanted to try out the dev mode stuff
So freely play any NES, SNES, N64, etc game once you get dev mode and proper software?
Youtube "install retroarch on series s" and you'll find plenty of tutorials. As others said, it's mostly for retro consoles but I can say PS2 played very well on the Series X, I had trouble getting Gamecube to work but I also didnt invest alot of time trying to fix it.

Yes absolutely. It's very easy and convenient especially with cloud saves
Thanks. I guess I'll wait for the next sale. Strange though as it was less than a 24 hour sale. And in my area, it was hardly available in any stores from the beginning, and wasn't available to ship either. Now all of a sudden it is available for shipping at the $269 price.

Thanks, then I will keep the Series S I purchased early this morning. The Series S seems like an ideal bedroom TV companion to the Series X. I don't consider consoles to be portable and usually your bedroom TV is smaller than the living room TV and like in my case, my bedroom TV does not have 120 fps capability like my main TV unit.
Oh look, another bot account with a 10 next to their name. Ever notice how they're so aggressive?
P.S. I paid $305 for my nephews Series X
Yea right. There was a few weeks where Walmart, Best Buy and maybe Amazon were selling a NEW Series X for $349 over the holiday season. Best Buy had the Series X on sale for $339 for a very short time around Xmas. I know because I bought one at $349 and the BB one at $339. Anything less was refurbished, renewed, open box, ebay, etc.

Yeah I thought about it then should have...as I'd prefer the series x with disc drive for my games....but honestly my current system is fine for the lil I play. I just don't like that many new games can't play on the old system like the new mortal kombat.
