i've had braun series 9 for a while now, and found it to be pretty good for 90% of my face & neck area. i think this is highly dependent on how the persons facial hair grows, but if you have very very strong facial hair that doesn't grow in an expected direction (eg maybe around the jaw line it grows upward along the jaw instead of growing downward) and is relatively flat against the skin, i've found this razor to have trouble with that.
there is a trimmer on the back that can help with those hair though, but it does tug a little bit for me. i generally use a safety razor to clean up those odd spots.
overall would definitely get again at this price. saves so much time compared to safety razor which requires lathering soap etc.
eta: the cleaning solution from what i understand does lubricate the razor as well, but i've run out of it, and since then i've just used soapy water to clean the razor head and bought a wahl clipper oil to lubricate, which i find pretty performant even compared to the original solution it came with - you do need to lubricate the razor, otherwise it gets very hot under use i've found.
Have used a series 7 for the last 10+ years. I cap the alcohol solution when it's done cleaning. This prevents it from evaporating. Also I don't clean it in the base as often. Use the brush myself etc.

How does this compare to the Costco model 9320cc? Looks like it comes with all the same stuff but Costco's is a 'Sport+' and retails $200 but occasionally goes on sale for $150.

I splurged on this last year, by far the best razor I've ever had. The cleaning solution does get expensive though I'm not sure how necessary it is.

the braun I bought from walgreens, despite it's suggested msrp, did not feel even worth the 20 dollars I paid for it.
understood, I got the 50 msrp wet dry it's just the thing for no pinch rounding edges (phlips rotary is faster but more pinching and skin irritation imo) and shaping beards, shaving neck and under eyes, but for a short but not skin close shave I just use wahl trimmers and I never get rash

Wondering the same. I've had a couple of the Costco ones and they don't have the LED number readout that shows "9" in this picture. The first Costco one had silver paint accents, and my new one has gold. Just sharing details of the Costco models hoping it helps someone with comparing them with the model posted in this deal.

I have the Costco gold one and it's good. I don't think there's too much variation of the very top ones to be honest. I had a metal Braun one back in the day that was gorgeous, looked like a work of art. I wish they still made them like that.
