I have always wondered. What should I do with the batteries after use? Just throw them in trash or something else?
Some places have battery recycling stations for dead rechargeable batteries & may allow these alkaline AA/AAAs. I haven't had to use one for a while but I think Lowe's typically has them up front near customer service.
But yeah.. try to avoid alkalines if you can (and devices that use them) - they're... not great.

You know you can do curbside pickup, right? I rarely go inside Lowe's anymore — only if I need to return something.
You're missing out on the experience! The hush quiet and off-gassing of the insulation aisle, in-store tool clearances, etc. Going for electrical or plumbing projects often benefits from being there in person to get hands on and piece things together a bit. Granted, my Lowe's/HD/Menards are all pretty well-kept.

Gave up on rayovac batterries. Old or new many have leaked acid whether being used or sitting in container.

ive purchased these many times..never any leaks or issues
You'll find many people complaining about all brands of alkalines having leaked. Personally, I've got a 36pk of these I'm just now getting to the bottom of after probably 5+ years. None of the rayovacs have leaked, only a duracell in my fancy laser 'tape' measure.
Got some Kirkland AA/AAA more recently which iirc were still a decent bit more expensive per battery than this deal - but they seem to be doing alright so far.. like I said, I try to avoid alkaline but some devices just don't like NIMH @ ~1.2V.
