Thanks for sharing and including all the links to the extras! You can use this 'in the field' with a PPS battery bank; however, I use this at a desk with a dedicated power supply and the silicone cord. I bought a pinecil along with a bunch of extras a year and a half ago, I already had a hakko, but I wanted something more convenient/travelable for quick jobs (guitar work, various electronics tasks like repairs, replacing batteries, etc.), and it is awesome! I haven't pulled out the Hakko since i got it. I also have the power supply on my work desk which I use daily, love this thing too, best desktop USB charger I have ever had, and I have gone through a lot of them. The V/A display is sweet. Here is what I picked up, along with a small pelican case to store everything in along with solder, etc. Yes the holder sucks, but for $2... it works. I have larger soldering stations w/ helping hands, etc. when needed, linked the main 2 I use below that are decent for the money. Also included links to a couple of good solder... don't cheap out on solder as is makes a huge difference to the ease of the job. Bigger gauge for stuff like guitars, smaller for small electronics:

Solder and flux, sometimes solder comes with a flux core so it's like a 2 in 1. I was get that $2 stand they sell. If doing wire repair 'helping hands' are useful. For board repair in my experience for large amounts of flux removal I use a sucker, for smaller amounts I use desolder braid. That's pretty much it.

Should I buy their USB C silicon charger cord or will any USB C silicon cord work? Any other things I should get from them or just Amazon for flux and tips? Short vs long tips?

How's it compare to the TS100 and TS80P ? (I've seen mention of a TS101 but I assume it's just Yet Another TS100 clone with a slightly varied name going ppl assume it's better because of the bigger number).

Which is also ironic because in many ways the TS80 has been superior to the TS100 from its launch forward

I'm also curious. I have the TS100 which I use a USB C to DC5525 cord and run it off a power bank with PD in the field. Other than supporting it natively without the adapter cord, are there any major advantages?

i have one of these and since buying it i have put my old solder station away. this is so simple. i can grab the USB C cable on my desk that i use for laptops or my phone and instantly have a soldering iron. buy it, you wont regret it.

I typically use my TS100 with a power tool battery if I'm mobile, or plugged into a PD port if I'm stationary. It fits standard T12 tips: both the connection and the resistance are compatible. The only downside is that T12 tips are meant to fit inside the handle, so they end up sticking way out the TS100. The Pinecil is supposed to be compatible with TS100 tips. Apparently T12 tips go in too deep on the Pinecil and short out something important.
