Carbon fiber is fine as long as you're not diving the ocean depths with it 😂
Generally speaking carbon fiber guitars are not affected by the temperatures. I'm not sure about this specific brand but the Lava Me is rated for 4 degrees - 194 degrees. Purely anecdotal, but I know some people with carbon fiber guitars who claim the heat/humidty never affect the tuning.

would this be heat resistant, say up to 200F? I live in AZ and I want to leave it in the car..... (other than loosening the strings)

I know carbon Fiber is resistant to the elements and humidity and such...but 200 degrees in a hot ass car? haha. Who knows. That sounds like a question for Mr. Google. 🤷 😜

Get the mini version. It is 1/2 size. That's what I used for my kid and it makes it infinitely easier to enjoy using for the tiny hands.

I've been playing guitars since I'm 13 I'm in my 30s this might be my most picked up guitar if not for creating original ideas but just to get the itch out of my system to play guitar every day I might even say it is my favorite acoustic even though I own guitars worth 5 to 10 times as much then again I do love short scale guitars

Are you referring to this one?
https://www.enya-music.com/products/nova-go-mini

I have been looking into these for my 1.5 years old kid. Although I do agree they are pretty young to learn anything at this point but the kid is very much into guitar, mostly just copying me so anytime I try to play the kid will all over the guitar trying to mess with strings and stuff. I got them toy guitar but they threw it away and want the real thing. I have been looking into these carbon fiber ones as I think they might survive the dropping and banging. Will they?

Yes, my friend got his kid the 3/4 size one and he says it's very sturdy and withstands drops and doesn't need adjustments. There are videos of people using carbon guitars to paddle a canoe and they still played fine afterwards. The mini is 20-1/4" scale length.

If you want to overthink it, I'd get a guitar that looks like yours at 1/4 size so that your kid really can mirror you and damn the possible damage. Whatever it takes to get them to enjoy it. My kid's first guitar was a Chiquita by Erlewine. It's 19" scale length and a real electric with real humbuckers and designed by Billy Gibbons. Super easy to play. Figured I could sell it if he didn't stick with it. He played that thing till he upgraded at 12.

My point is I support you trying to encourage your kid to play and trying to make it easier will help.

I think so, I bought my daughter one for her 9th, it's really sturdy, they'd have to be trying to wreck it. It's really fun to play, bought myself one too.

I would strongly recommend starting out with ukulele for a 5 year old especially if you're looking into having them start taking lessons. I've been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons for 10 years and truthfully, the average 5 year old doesn't have the dexterity nor the attention span to keep track of 6 strings. A ukulele has 2 less strings to worry about and the bodies are much better suited to the arm length of a 5yo. That said, I have had some 5 and 6yo students who excel at guitar without starting on ukulele so it is definitely possible. Any guitar instructor worth their salt should be able to transition a student from ukulele to guitar fairly easily.

Look into concert size ukuleles from brands such as Lanikai, Kala, Luna, or Mitchell. Won't break the bank and you can always resell it (or try it out yourself) if it doesn't work out.

Last year I upgraded my ukulele from Boroughs to this brand and I have been very happy with the quality. If I need do need to tune, it's always slightly. It's beautiful, sounds great even with the unique design. If you do get this for your kid, I recommend getting a capo. I use the Boss Tuner app to tune my uke which is free on the app store.
