How good of a deal is this? I have a nephew who is into Pokemon cards, but I don't know anything about the Pokemon TCG myself. I'd maybe consider giving it to him for his birthday in a few months.

I've gotten a resealed paldean evolved ETB sold by Amazon as new. The plastic wrapping was stiffer than usual, I opened it anyways and they took all the holos and promo card. I got my money back by returning.

Pokemon Go is widely regarded as one of the worst modern sets. There are much better Elite Trainer Boxes available for the same price, including Paldean Fates which is the newest set.

how does something get returned and then resold by amazon like that... i thought amazon didn't resell returned goods

If the returnee claims they never used it and the inspection ok's it, then it probably goes back into stock.

Whereas if they report it as damaged probably not.

I'm only assuming, I wouldn't know the internal workings of Amazon.

They used to price match/adjust/refund and now they don't. They prefer you return the item and rebuy at newer price. Their methods are weird.

Yes. According to a worker, the "sold by Amazon" and third party merch "shipped by Amazon" are both stored together as one.

What's a good pull these days? I'm still use to base set and fossil Pokémon when I collected them as a kid. I sold a few of my charizards and other 1st edition holos on eBay last year. What's the equivalent to a charizard these days?

Charizard is still the hyped card in sets that have been released after, but the Alternate full art ones and not the standard ones. In comparison, the recent 151 set, Venusaur and Blastoise is $40-45 whereas Charizard is $115 even though the "Rarity type" is the exact same.
