That's what I do each time I go for other stuff. Check clearance end cap and a few other Ryobi tool spots and go.

I wonder how people run into these deals. What do you do, do you walk around the whole store when you visit? The only time when I visit the store is when I need something, I just grab what I need and leave.

The ones around me have clearance sections so if I'm in the store I always check them to see if there are any good deals. Same with Lowes and Walmart.

Thanks, I'll go check to see if there are clearance sections on my next visit. I didn't even know such a thing existed until I read comments on here, probably because I just grabbed what I needed and left as quickly as possible.

You're welcome, I will say Lowes usually has a better clearance section than HD. I've gotten a lot of good deals there, like a bunch of smart RGB LED lights for a buck each.

I picked up a couple of packs today at my local Home Depot. Brickseek showed they had 30 in stock. An employee was helping me and could not find them. She was persistent and after 15 minutes of looking we found them on the top shelf of the rack. There were four in the box, she found three boxes. Not sure if she ever found the remaining boxes? She said she was going to move them to the clearance section. They were $70 each, and Brickseek showed clearance.

Went to 2 Houston area HD, both showing plenty in stock and on clearance on BS. However, Clearance is a relative term since both stores had them on clearance but at $98 (which was $1 less than the online deal with free shipping). Ran into a Ryobi reb stocking the shelves at one of the stores and got to chatting with her. She said many of the stores overbought so they are offloading them. She wasn't sure about if it was to make room for the newer versions. And she's not aware of the clearance prices < $98; to her, $98 was already a steal. Oh both stores had them in boxes on the top shelves, and had to bring them down, so you will need ask.

Just ran over to the HD at RIA in Washington, D.C. and they had 3-4 in stock (now one less). Can't believe I actually caught a ymmv HD clearance slickdeal. These will go well with my impact wrench since I didn't have any HD batteries to get more torque out of it. Thanks!

I may have to spin by my local HD to look for this. I had seen it for $99.00 at one location on Sunday, but at $70 I'll bite.

As a side note, I did see one 4Ah 18v High Performance Kit [ryobitools.com] (4Ah battery and fast charger) on clearance for $72.00 at the HD in Durham, NC. This was on Sunday, so no idea if they would still have it. I couldn't find it on BS.

Not really (regarding vac performance).

High performance batteries like this deal will make a difference compared to regular batteries. The higher Ah rating is concerning the amount of energy that battery stores. So a 6Ah battery will provide about 50% more run time per charge compared to a 4Ah. Most bundled batteries are even smaller 2Ah regular ones.

When I use the Internet number on the HD website in brickseek it doesn't seem to work. What number did everyone use?

Honestly, I only consider buying Ryobi tools because I have so many of their batteries now 😂

Having just bought an Impact Wrench, I've watched a number of youtube videos that test and plot the torque curve of impact wrenches and the battery type, capacity, and cell type make a big difference. For example, a 1.5Ah, non HP battery wouldn't take off a 129ftlb lug nut, however, a 4Ah non HP did. The videos I referenced show the P195 3Ah HP battery is about the best battery ever because it used a different cell type that none of the other batteries use. I think the new Edge batteries may start using those again. Then the 4Ah HP battery in this deal, or the larger 6Ah, 8Ah, or 12Ah batteries all made incremental differences over the 4Ah battery, but again, this is for a very high torque type application, or driving huge bolts into 4x4's. Suppose these 'better' batteries could help in fastening or cutting applications (circular saws, etc). Hope this helps...easy enough to youtube what I'm talking about!
