I picked a set in Waltham, MA (Boston suburbs), and there was probably 4-5 left today.

They were up in the front of the store where they set up various seasonal stuff and specials, kind of in horizontal line with the checkout. They had a few other clearance things there as well.

Brickseek's inventory check is spot on for this store at least. They also had some of the Expand-it attachments on clearance. This one for $49 is a good deal if someone needs it: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../100234564
Thanks, here's the BS link for that item and it's showing "Clearance" price in my area.

Brickseek says 47 are on clearance in a home depot 13 miles away, but doesn't say the price. Wonder if it's worth the drive.
Any chance this is the north Frisco store? Did you find it eventually?

Not in the same state, but I did take the risk and snagged two.

Thanks, I'll go check to see if there are clearance sections on my next visit. I didn't even know such a thing existed until I read comments on here, probably because I just grabbed what I needed and left as quickly as possible.
Some minor info….this past year I've had to do a good deal of driving between Los Angeles and up the middle of California towards Sacramento. Many Home Depot/Lowes along the route. There was no consistency store to store where the "clearance section" was located. However within the store, once found, that spot was consistent. Usual spots were central isle at HD, sometimes two spots. Lowe's seemed to be on back wall or side walls.
And of course, individual aisles might or might not have a specific item tagged clearance.
Also FYI, Lowe's was a PITA due to using yellow tags in aisles on items that were NOT on clearance. Oh well.

For those in DFW area. Just purchased at the Roanoke HD location (76262).

They have about a dozen to a dozen and a half sets of batteries in their clearance section in the middle of the store. Clearance tag shows a price of $99 (?) but rings up at $70.

I wonder how people run into these deals. What do you do, do you walk around the whole store when you visit? The only time when I visit the store is when I need something, I just grab what I need and leave.
I enjoy walking up and down every aile especially when I go to Costco. I also like checking out all the deals when I visit the slickdeals site. I'm not sure if it's a habit or addiction all I know is I enjoy it.

Just picked these up. They only had a few left. My local HD keeps moving the clearance section around! They were towards the front by the contractor desk but now they moved them to an endcap in the middle of the store. Not a biggie but just wish they'd keep it consistent. They also had one of those security cables around them so I had to hunt down someone to unlock it. But for the price it was worth it

Thank you! Brickseek showed 26 left at my store and it took an hour for me, a HD employee and the Ryobi rep at my store to find them. They had them tucked away in a roped off area. The rep was so confused why they were there.

I was at my local Home Depot today in Colorado and can confirm this store had these for the $70 price in multiple clearance areas throughout the store.

Last week, all the stores around me were $99.
Today I went into one store and it's dropped to $70.
This is in DFW.

I saw quite a few people selling them on eBay already.
