It's hard to predict the market. Nvidia at one point was filing for bankruptcy, look at them now... Also Epic games was on the verge of going under and almost over night they turned it around.
~3 years is basic PSU for a cheap build that should be safe
~5 years is fine, if you're not doing a high-end build
~7 years is good, even for a high-end build
~10 years is probably overkill, but you may as well if spending $2k+
This used to line up nicely with Corsair's CX, TX, AX, and HX lines...or something like that.
But it's all gotten jumbled since Jonny Guru stopped hot boxing PSUs and nobody is really doing great reviews anymore.
So I just go with Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, or Silverstone, if I can. If I can't get those, then EVGA, Zippy, Superflower, PC Power & Cooling, or a few others...and use the warranty to gauge it.
If I had not bought the latest Corsair deal a few weeks back I definitely get this one for a spare.
