My 850w took a crap after 9.5 years. Reached out to EVGA and got it warranted. I had to pay to ship the old unit back but it was a very smooth process. Got another unit within days.

This or the Corsair RM750e? Planning to build 7700x paired with 2060 super. I'll likely want to upgrade GPU at some point so was thinking 750w would be better but Corsair one has lot of people saying they make a whining sound.
Either would likely handle that so I would go with whichever's cheaper. If there's concern about a whining sound than I personally would definitely skip it, but that's me.

This company is unlikely to exist in 7 years.

It's hard to predict the market. Nvidia at one point was filing for bankruptcy, look at them now... Also Epic games was on the verge of going under and almost over night they turned it around.

Get whatever is cheaper. This should be a great PSU for this price range.

It's more that the warranty length denotes the quality level, for good PSU manufacturers like Antec, Corsair, and, typically, EVGA.

~3 years is basic PSU for a cheap build that should be safe
~5 years is fine, if you're not doing a high-end build
~7 years is good, even for a high-end build
~10 years is probably overkill, but you may as well if spending $2k+

This used to line up nicely with Corsair's CX, TX, AX, and HX lines...or something like that.

But it's all gotten jumbled since Jonny Guru stopped hot boxing PSUs and nobody is really doing great reviews anymore.

So I just go with Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, or Silverstone, if I can. If I can't get those, then EVGA, Zippy, Superflower, PC Power & Cooling, or a few others...and use the warranty to gauge it.

I too have been impressed with EVGA and their PS warranty. Had one DOA although it was from their B stock they still sent me a brand new one. Had to pay to ship to their location (think it was about 15 bux) but nothing else.
If I had not bought the latest Corsair deal a few weeks back I definitely get this one for a spare.
