I really like this board too. Just built 2 systems with it. One i9-14900k, one i7-14700k. Easily overclocks both processors with as much power as I want to push to them. VRMs stay nice and cool, even push 350w+ to the i9. Very stable. I paid $200.

isn't this board for 12th and 13th gen?
And 14th gen. If you buy a board that was manufactured after approx last November, out of the box bios supports 14th gen.

This is the latest Intel Chipset, supports 14th gen out of the box. At least the ones I got from Amazon did. But do update the latest BIOS after you get it, they upgraded the user interface. Even if you got one with an old bios that needed to be updated for 14th gen, it has a BIOS update feature that works regardless if your CPU is supported or not.

If I was in the market for a new build, this is the board I would pick.

This, or this MSI one? I ordered MSI already but want the better of these two. Thanks. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJGQMZCY

Edit: Something weird about this gigabyte one is that the images say pci 4.0 , not 5.0 as claimed. Which does it have?

From Gigabyte's website it looks like pci 5.0 for graphics and 4.0 for the 4 M2 connectors. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherbo...-rev-1x#kf

Would this be a good choice for a home lab server? Unraid, Plex, Home Assistant mostly. Thanks.

I mean unless you are willing to pay for server grade equipment then yes. Honestly most people don't need to go out and spend 380 bucks on a Supermicro X13SAE-F or the ASUS server board. This with some regular ddr5, and the cpu of your choice will most likely last years and years.

I spent some time fighting an MSI board on my home server (just a regular PC with a lot of storage). Was really disappointed in MSI that their software would not load properly, would freeze up and limited my access to options in Windows. This is both the regular software and the "Dragon" version, both failed in different ways. Found tons of complaints about MSI's software online.

So my new main PC I used this Gigabyte board and like it. I'm anti-Asus because of their business practices, and the only other board I liked is the Tachi Lite, but it is ATX extended size.

This board has been great. 12700k, 3x WD Black PCI 4.0 NVME installed and 32GB 6000 DDR5. Running an undervolt on the CPU with an overclock. It comes with good wifi and uses the Realtek 2.5GB adapter which works perfect instead of the Intel 2.5GB chip which has a hardware issue for the last 4 generations (Many Intel 2.5GB cards built-in will continually disconnect). Software works great and isn't as intrusive as the Asus Armory Crate software. Only single complaint is the power/reset/HDD light connector did not come with a quick connect like many of their other models do.

I was looking at getting the MSI tomahawk but I don't think it's 50 bucks better than this
