I bought these last August for pruning herbs from my AeroGarden. They weren't heavily used. The black plastic piece that locks the scissors closed broke pretty quickly for me. This made them way less convenient for storage. A rubber band would probably suffice to fix the issue.

These are another case where you probably don't need much, but the manufacturer cheapened out too much. I wouldn't impulse buy these just to have them around. But if you think you need light duty snips, then it probably doesn't hurt to take the risk and spend $2.60 now. Even if they do break, it should help you decide if it's worth spending more for a brand name you recognize.

I bought these before. Haven't had an issue with the locking mechanism like others, but these are not strong whatsoever. They're great for leaves/flower trimming, but in no way are they reliable for branches of any diameter. Very sharp out of the package, grabbed another as a backup
