These are another case where you probably don't need much, but the manufacturer cheapened out too much. I wouldn't impulse buy these just to have them around. But if you think you need light duty snips, then it probably doesn't hurt to take the risk and spend $2.60 now. Even if they do break, it should help you decide if it's worth spending more for a brand name you recognize.
