Some folks prefer a Castrol, Mobile, Pennzoil… etc. I'm not saying these brands are any better than HighlineWarren, but if you compare the material safety data sheets, some of them have a more robust additive package and/or use a higher quality base oil.
At the end of the day it's your choice what you put into your car. To each their own.

Bob Is The Oil Guy is the way to cut through the BS. Go read oil analysis threads, focusing on which ones show the least metal particles in the oil. That's where the rubber hits the road.
BTW, the Warren oils typically test very well. LOL over people bashing their oils just because they are cheap.

I would not use Castrol GTX in a computer though, even if you go with some sort of oil cooling solution, probably need something lighter and without the automotive-specific additives. But they make a fine oil and I've used their products off and on for many years. These days, I'm pretty convinced that cheap oil, paired with a quality filter and changed at recommended intervals (either the manufacturer's or based on actual real world data after lab testing, which is cheap), is absolutely fine for the vast majority of applications.

Assuming I'd spend 40k+ on a vehicle or most of anyone on SlickDeals is pretty funny too.
Yes Castrol is good enough for most normal use, just like SuperTech, Kirkland, etc. Just use a good filter and change regularly.
PS Costco puts it on sale often for 30.99 aka 15.50 per 5qt jug. Used it in all 3 of my cars for years no prob, internals look super clean. It's Dexos Gen3 rated, good enough for me. Just offering an alternative that's cheaper, that's all.

You're better off spending more on a high quality oil filter, air filter, tires or something else where brand actually matters.
