those with a Costco membership it's about $10 for 3lbs
Great price, will check my store again. I am in the Northeast though, so it's likely that this item does not make it to this region.

Edit: just checked Costco sameday, shows 3-lb Mayorga brand for $10.17, so must be available at the local store.

that has been debunked. Should not be a issue as chia has fiber.

Chia may have fiber, but those tiny little seeds are tiny little seeds that can fit right into a lower intestine tic. I'm pretty sure they don't sprout once they've been swallowed.

I have been drinking water with chia seeds every day for more than a year (2 Tbsp to 2 liters of water). It is a good source of fiber plus other health benefits. I think your theory is based on consuming dry seeds. Chia seeds should always be soaked well before use.

To be fair, I don't eat chia seeds. I like sesame seeds, but only on a bun delivering a cheeseburger to my face. I do put poppy seeds in my blue cheese wing dip. But I'm familiar with diverticulitis and and how it can be triggered, so I was just providing the information.

I saw these at Costco today for the first time. What do you use them for? I also saw they were clearing out Mung beans, but I know nothing about those either.

Thank you. I just saw them clearing them out for $5.00. Not sure how they taste or how to use them, so I decided to not purchase. I looked at them right after reviewing the Chia seeds.

Can I use this to create my own Chia pet?

My daughter has done this (different brand, but sold as food). She filled paper cup with dirt and chia seed. Water as needed and enjoy.

Not sure this is such a great price - my local Sprouts has them in bins for $2.99/lb regularly.

Absolutely False! Please don't adopt the fears of others. It's important to have the FACTS and do your research. Let's not cause others to be afraid of something that is NOT true. This was published by the National Institute of Health in 2009. They stopped teaching this in 2004.

Interesting study. The next time my diverticulitis acts up after I've eaten nuts, I'll know that it's not really diverticulitis. That will undoubtedly make my cramping and pain go away.

You are very welcome and would suggest you give them a try. It's a staple in my diet and we enjoy them. There are a million ways to cook them. I would encourage you to look up online for various recipes especially from Asian cuisine and the Indian sub continent.

Diverticulitis is a serious bacterial infection and nothing to play around with. The gold standard and only way for diagnosing diverticulitis is a CT scan, lab work and urine analysis. Dr. Office diagnosis is closer to a guess. Likely you have IBS-C, IBS-D, Crohn's, or some other issue causing your pain. There are over 100 ailments that can cause the same pains.

I didn't make it up, I have indeed been officially diagnosed. Totally familiar with it now. I know what it feels like, I can tell when I'm having an onset. I also know when I'm most at risk of triggering it and the foods that I eat to cause that onset. Thanks again.

Don't get me wrong, and wish you well. I am in same boat and 10" inches gone from resection 3 mos ago. And I eat anything. I prefer science over wives tails.
