those with a Costco membership it's about $10 for 3lbs
Great price, will check my store again. I am in the Northeast though, so it's likely that this item does not make it to this region.

Edit: just checked Costco sameday, shows 3-lb Mayorga brand for $10.17, so must be available at the local store.

Diverticulosis much?
Huh? It's thought that low fiber diets cause diverticuli. Also the notion that small bits of food (like this or nuts) cause inflammation (diverticulitis) has pretty much been debunked.

I have been drinking water with chia seeds every day for more than a year (2 Tbsp to 2 liters of water). It is a good source of fiber plus other health benefits. I think your theory is based on consuming dry seeds. Chia seeds should always be soaked well before use.
Have you used psyllium husk? Is chia comparable?

Yes, I used to take psyllium husk in the capsule form. I think chia seeds are less processed in comparison. I had high cholesterol and prediabetes for a few years. I am now back to normal levels on both and I think the chia seeds may be part of my health improvement besides regular exercise.

Tell that to clinicians.

Interesting that you refer to it as wive's tales... Doctors to this day are still advising against consumption of Chia for prolonged periods given their increased propensity to trigger a bout of diverticulitis. Colonoscopy results have confirmed the need to reduce chia/cucumbers to mitigate triggering bouts.

I didn't make it up, I have indeed been officially diagnosed. Totally familiar with it now. I know what it feels like, I can tell when I'm having an onset. I also know when I'm most at risk of triggering it and the foods that I eat to cause that onset. Thanks again.

I don't think he accused you making up your ailments. I think what he was implying is ... in a nut shell, he would recommend getting a second opinion from a totally different medical source!.... and I don't blame him. I know a hand full of people who have went for years on certain medications, increasing the strength (and side affects) of those meds because their ailments weren't getting better and when they sought a second opinion from a different medical source, they came to a different conclusion and in almost all of their cases the second medical diagnosis either cured them or drastically reduced their symptoms.

I would go to a different doctor from a different type of medical system.... for instance, here in NW Ohio, we have a plethora of competing medical houses... ProMedica or Mercy or Noms healthcare, etc..

Good luck

Good buy and great with oats. I always throw a bit of these with oats and whey protein into a shaker bottle the night before for breakfast. Healthy and tastes good.

They don't tell you who sponsored this study. It was probably planters peanuts or a farmers cooperative
