Considering AMD just released the 5700x3D for $250 which is less powerful than this chip then I think you're going to be waiting quite a while longer.

By 10 dollars. My point is they're certainly not going to price the 5800X3D under the 5700X3D, and considering the 5700X3D is brand new it's highly unlikely to go under $200 itself in the next few months.

Anyone have success getting Best Buy to price match this processor? I tried a couple weeks ago thru chat, but they would not do it because the product numbers were different. Best Buy carries 100-100000651WOF, but Microcenter uses 100-100000651WO.

I'm hoping you're wrong. Quite frankly, those 5000 series prices need to freefall. They're too close the clearly superior 7000 series.

The 7700X beats the 5800X3D in gaming so it's hard to justify an upgrade to the 5800X3D when you can get in the new platform for not that much more, IMO.

Yes I got them to price match today. Next time tell them that the model number doesn't matter, the upc is listed as exactly the same which means they are exactly the same.

Yeah, I was hoping they were wrong too, but now we are well into 2024, and the price is holding incredibly well, other than the microcenter deal (that I'll never be able to get). They know what they're doing; it feels like gouging. The PC world used to feel so exciting, and now you spend so much time trying not to get ripped off. My son teases me that I'm not much of a pc gamer anymore, but it's because I've leaned into other hobbies. Maybe this summer for the 5700x3d.
