You know... you can recharge the battery. You don't have to throw the whole thing away after the first 5 minutes.
I got the fpv after using a mini for the longest time. It was the open box Best Buy deal. Absolutely train in the included simulator (phone attached to the goggles via usb) before you use the sport mode. Sport basically gives you full access to the capabilities of a FPV versus the mild/ heavily stabilized maneuverability of the mini. This thing burns through battery, expect about 5min in sport mode, but I have easily gone 70mph with this thing. It's weird passing cars alongside a country road.
If it's your first time, then guaranteed you will crash it. That's why it's better to buy brand new and buy the DJI Care so you get 2x free replacements per year.

I tried getting the fpv drone last time Best buy had the open box sale. It had a broken gimbal and was locked to the previous owner. I checked it in the store before walking out so it was easy to hand it right back. How is BuyDig with these?

Well none of these are drones except for the first one. Which I would say is an okay deal.

If you're looking to move from dji minis or mavics to real fpv, then I would recommend this at this price. The video quality, safety features, GPS return, etc, all make this a really nice first fpv experience. I would say this it's harder to crash this vs a regular fpv drone, but it'll also cost you a lot more to fix if you do.

I have the FPV. Download liftoff on steam and put in some practice with the controller going over flight modes. I've never crashed mine but I'm very careful.

I got my FPV fly more combo used for 600$ last September. It's awesome but I don't use it a heck of a lot. The minis and airs you can fly somewhat incognito but these are loud and you stick out like a sore thumb with the goggles.

I didn't realize the v2 goggles worked with the FPV….

That's a good deal on the Osmo 3, I got the Osmo 4 for 239 but even the 3 is plenty enough.

The DJI FPV can easily fly for longer than that. In fact, the DJI FPV has a longer flight duration than almost any other acro FPV setup on the market. I typically fly mine for about 10 or 12 minutes per flight, and that's not just hovering around. That's zooming around, chasing RC planes, etc.

Just to add my own experience; I did the same thing last year and went to BestBuy to check mine before leaving the store. Mine was in complete working order and the only "damage" I could find was a dent in the plastic faceplate of the goggles. Completely cosmetic and it worked fine.

However, I did turn on and test everything at the store before taking it home, because I read from others that the unit you get could be anywhere from landfill material to like-new.

I think the speed is rated at 60mph in sport mode and 88mph in manual mode. But yeah, those are super fun. The video quality fed to the goggles is inferior to the record quality but with digital fpv, much much better than a typical analog racing drone. Much easier to fly too due to the altitude hold. You can let go of the sticks and not crash. On a regular racing drone, the drone plummets (which also make them much more agile)

Fly in an open field or at the beach the first few times and you really cannot crash it. They are awesome.
