I'm hoping we see 83" for closer to 2K soon. It's getting close with some deals like the recent Samsung one for $2500. Still holding
lol i remember when it was the 77" we were trying to get cheaper.

I have ptsd from the F8500 sammy plasmas i exchanged 3 times for before i finally gave up on them. Yes by the numbers they are brighter for the price, let alone if you step up to the S95 which matches the G3, both which will burn your retinas off.

LG has solved the burn in issue by adding a white pixel so RGB pixels don't have to glow at their peak to display white. Quite a smart solution imo.
Do you know when that started? I have an LG I bought back in 2017 (B2 model I think?) that has unfortunately developed significant burn in. Been thinking about replacing it.

Sure bud. You have two TV's side-by-side playing the exact same material at the exact same time and this random assortment of people all say that the Samsung is better? That's pretty amazing. Do they also have torch mode on their own TV's at home? Just making sure they're TRUE experts in your focus group.
Even my dog can smell this guy's bullshit.

Haha yea I would much prefer the LG C3 over the Samsung personally, just saying they are getting there. Having said that, this is a nice price for the 77" C3. Speaking of Plasmas, ultimately what I'm replacing is my Panasonic ZT60…some day lol

Yup. My parents spent a pretty penny on the Samsung f8500 for it to shit the bed in less than two years. Then the warranty replacement of another Samsung shit the bed. I won't touch a Samsung tv. Notorious pieces of junk.

Final Samsung price after tax was 1895. But I did not get 2 year Samsung warranty.

What I did was I initially ordered the tv and then it was taking a while to shop so I argued with chat, they gave me an extra coupon code for discount on a future order. I cancelled the tv and then reordered and added the coupon. Was totally worth the extra wait, especially when you factor in CC rewards with chase as well as the extra chase warranty as well as 5% CB.
wait what cc rewards from chase ? I used chase sapphire but didnt see anything extra.

Weird, I still have both my F8500 plasmas (64 and 51 inch) both working great 10 years later... in fact the 64" one is what I'd be looking to replace with a 77" OLED...

Doubt I'd go samsung for that though, since handling lower-def content seems to be one place it scores much lower than LG-- and I've still got some older content I want to look at least as good as it does on the plasmas.

I have the 2017 65' model - B7. Works perfectly. No burn-in.

Well that makes this slickdeal instantly interesting for me since my old C6 has so much burn-in I am constantly seeing the entire Ark Surival HUD/inventory menu whenever the scene is light colored.

Is "Low quality content smoothing" what would be most applicable to non-4K content on Netflix and other streaming services?
Streamed content is what I watch 90% of the time with the remaining 9% being video games, and 1% actual physical media. Based on that, would I be wise to default to this LG over the superior panel offered by Samsung in the S89C/S90C?

Well, the white sub pixel has nothing to do with it, all LG OLEDs work the same way. They just stopped driving their OLEDs past their capability and improved compensation cycles the tv does automatically to reduce burn in.

Been using a C6 since 2016 (curved, 3D capable) and zero burn in, even with video games .
