To be fair Prime used to be 2 day shipping. Now price is 2 day shipping, 1 day shipping, same day shipping, massive movie / TV library, AAA movie production company, video game giveaways, music steaming service, etc.

I'm not invited to the board meetings but I'm guessing during one of them it was decided $69 per year....forever wasn't a sustainable business strategy.

Two day for shipping for you maybe for me it's like 5 days. My guess is Amazon's doing what it always is doing evaluating the data and twisting the knobs just a little bit. It's like when you look at an item for sale and the next day it jumps up by $2 or lowers by a dollar or something like that. They determined that because we don't have any competition they don't need to ship stuff right away. Don't get me wrong I still get it next day once they ship it but they might not pick the order for three or four days.

FYI, if you chat with support when that happens they will always give you a credit / giftcard for the "inconvenience" as they call it. I personally only have delays like that around holidays or Prime day but of course YMMV. Lastly I think way to many people base life decisions around the estimated shipping time. Our town's local FB group is basically people screaming how Walmart (the competition) or Amazon delivered something 7 minutes too late or accidently to the next door neighbor. Not sure how these people survived the 2000's, 90's, or before Wink

Things happen but if you really have to have something by X day or life will cease on our fair planet....you might want to get in your car.

My point was; Amazon's current subscription price includes far more more than free shipping with no minimum. Hardly fair to compare the old price vs the new offerings. Different yardsticks. If you do not want / need the other 'benefits' then that is an entirely different discussion. One I am not having.

Yet still have more benefits then any other service.I think the real reason is everthinf is more expensive then it as 20 years ago music right,film rights etc so they have to pass the increases on to consumers or stay unprofitable like they were 8 year ago.You do know Amazon was unprofitable for years right they were making money on the stock value but the actual business because they were spending more the they were bringing in to give all the free perks.

It's not really free when you pay a subscription, and the games were definitely better ~ 1.5 years ago. If the "free" shows on amazon prime are getting lower in quality, it'd be something to talk about.

Please don't say the quality of games are low. They'll add higher quality of games to the roster and then raise the price and say "we are continuing to increase our catalog", which is what scum normally says. Case and point Netflix adding games to their services
