suprisingly, the branch near me that rarely ever allows for the promotion is allowing for it this time
Me too. It looks like every Subway now accepts the BOGO national app promotion. Just beware that some Subways will skimp out on the veggies so now it should be easier to find one that accepts the BOGO without making a pathetic skimpy sub.

Subway "Effective Dec. 28, 2023, all restaurants will be required to honor all digital programs and promotions, including loyalty rewards and digital discounts," the memo says. "In addition, loyalty incentive programs designed to attract new loyalty members are mandatory and will not be reimbursed by Subway."

No, it doesnt work that way. All the coupons & bogos dont hurt the franchise owner at all. All those coupons are reimbursed to the franchise owners by the Subway Corp. This is how the system works for any franchise. If you though it would hurt the franchise owners with these coupons, they would be shut many years if not decade ago at least. The reason some franchise owners don't honor these coupons is coz they usually have 1 (commonly) or max 2 employees making sandwiches. And with all these bogo rush, they cant handle the volume. You are dead wrong. The franchisee
you are dead wrong. The franchisee has to absorb all the additional food costs as well as continue to pay the franchise fees of up to 8% and ad fees up to 3% of GROSS sales. they also are required to advertise on their own up to 2 %. that my friend is nearly 15% off the top. Unless you have family that can assist with working you are barely making a living. Trust me, I know. I was a former Subway owner.

I don't think they are reimbursed. If that was true then why are some so against accepting any kind of promotion. I've seen some owners get angry/mad, when I try to use a coupon. Luckily, my local Subway has no problems with it. And the only times I go is when there are promotions.

Completely false. Nothing is reimbursed whatsoever.

If you really want them to be dead, you should snag some BOGO footlongs. The franchisees lose money on this promo.
How can they possibly lose money with the current price of a footlong? Please provide the detailed cost breakdown that leads you to that conclusion.

Obviously the owners food cost and paper cost goes up. Plus if it gets really busy their labor cost will also increase.

Sales volume increases, fixed cost stays the same. The cost of ingredients and labor don't justify current regular prices. They will do just fine if they accept the offer.
