This is a terrible take. Please do not listen to this person. Oled is great for video regardless of what they think needs to be taken "full advantage of." They really do not know what they are talking about.
Just had greentoe do a counter offer of 1399 after tax this week on the same model. If you are somewhere without tax, this is the better option. If you have tax, it may be better to just put this same price as an offer at greentoe and have it be an out the door price instead

what are you talking about? Do you still watch 1080i satellite or something? Pair this set with a nvidia shield and a higher bitrate stream and it looks fantastic. Even 1080p upscales look impressive. It's all about the source of the video on the screen. A stronger processor helps considerably as well.

As it does for just about any modern TV. You are definitely minority of those liking shields 'AI' upscaling... which IMHO, it's for the dogs (sorry furry canines)

I bought this tv in the 55 inch model from the last deal. It's a beautiful looking screen, that said there's not a lot of shows or movies or tv that can take full advantage of it. The technology should also continue to get cheaper, so unless you get a great deal most 4K 60hz TVs will do most of what this tv does for much cheaper

Actually when it comes to any form of HDR(4k) you have it backwards.
Current commercial displays cannot take full advantage of it.

Then there is tone mapping and the processing of the content.
Which brings in the quality of your content & equipment.

anyone hooking it up to a PC or game console will definitely want 120hz, 60hz is terrible for gaming.I personally wouldnt buy a gaming monitor that was only 120hz, i wouldnt be happy being limited to that low fps

Is the camera worth anything? I can't think of a time thought I needed a camera above my tv.

Greentoe is offering the same price for just the tv. I'd rather just get a cheaper price w/o the camera.

Will anyone local price match B&H? Target, Best Buy, Walmart, etc? I will never ship a big TV again, too much headache if something goes wrong.

AI upscaling is awful. It's not ready for Primetime

Waiting for C3 to get to this price.

Is this a good deal at $1506 with taxes in CA? LG website has it listed for $1699 and will come out to ~$1867 with taxes in CA. Amazon has a $200 coupon for it making it to $1630 after taxes.

How is this TV v/s 65" LG QNED 80 on deal with almost half the price?

I know, I was saying that most things don't utilize 120hz

Most things don't use 120hz but it doesn't matter if it's shot in 60fps or 24fps cause it will be split in the increment of the multiplicative of what the source content is but up to 120hz

He must not be a gamer so I understand why refresh rates are still new for people to comprehend but it's ALWAYS using higher refresh rate since it has variable refresh like most of their tvs besides the A series which is locked up 60hz

You can't compare different tvs types in regards to panel types which is a flaw on your comment since oled has different capabilities versus LCD or plasma or CRT but since you didn't specify what the criticism is with this then sadly you got the mob coming after you from not clarifying

I will partially agree that many people don't even know or care about 4k vs 1080p still heck I think my brother in law can't tell the difference so it is still subjective on how much people care about picture quality or off they just want a large flat screen these days for cheap; this TV isn't a one size fits all kinds of tv but at least it shows us the trends of it being cheaper than many years ago

I spent ~$600 more on a C9 about 4 years ago, so to IMO this is a very good deal. Still love my TV, and I think it makes MOST media look better than ever. Even re-watching older series (Sopranos, Mad Men, etc) or remastered Movies (quality versions) from back in the day, look fantastic.

This is a great TV but just to play the devils advocate on 120hz gaming. Most AAA will struggle to run at 60 on modern consoles. Theres only a handful of very basic 2d games or esports titles that will run at 120 on a console. PC gaming works better on a monitor for a variety of reasons which is another debate. Maybe the next gen of consoles will be able to do 4K/120 without fidelity compromise.
