If you have access to Perks at Work, it's $1059 plus 12x points. Also, if you have the Amex Lenovo offer, it would take another $100 off. All stacked together, it seems a really sweet deal. Just bought this a few days ago but haven't opened yet.

EDIT: Still available, but down to 9x points for 5 star members
If you happen to be over 55+, you get an extra $60 off using ID.me. Pays for the 64GB upgrade! Verify at Checkout.
Read a 1 star review stating this has the same sleep/wake issue as the Gen 1 model had, guy had 3 replacements and same issue. Then there are 2 reviews about machines shipped without valid Windows OS keys. These AMD P16s seem cursed, they just clearanced out the Gen 1s at $758 on ebay and $808 on lenovos site. There's a general glut of these 'Power' models that can't sell through at standard sale prices.

The discussions on Reddit sun about bios issues and bricked mobos turns me off. Though maybe it's bc they are tinkering with it and not disclosing it..

The 64GB version is $60 more. I was tempted, but this is already pushing my budget and 32GB is double what I have now.

Almost ready to push the ORDER NOW button, but an anti-reflection OLED -- seems counter-OLED to have a non-glare screen. Anyone seen one to see how the OLED looks?

Also, just one SSD slot or is there a 2nd slot?

Yes, it is. I had one. Great laptop otherwise.

Thanks for sharing this! There's also a 2% CB through a few Chase cards if you click through. There's also a thing where Chase adds an extra year to whatever warranty comes with the product.

This or the p14s? Also anyway to increase the battery time? Going to be mobile and coding on vs code and intellij mostly
I use it for the same purpose as you. Def get the 16". The screen real estate really helps coding wise. And it's only marginally heavier

13700HX is a different animal. You need to see what the TDP (Thermal Design Power) is of both systems - that helps determine what you get. 13700HX + 4070 will probably be over 100w - I'm going to bet that you aren't going to get a long battery life out of this system, and it will be a lot hotter. You can get the same out of a ThinkPad (although not 4070 - the workstation equivalent) in a ThinkPad P16. I'm typing this on a P14s AMD (Generation 1) - and it is still doing fine - it is 3+ years old. I could get out my 18 year old T42 and use it - but I'm reluctant to connect a Windows XP era box to the Internet. ThinkPads last forever.

OLED displays on thinkpads have flicker, and it's at a low refresh rate -around 60hz PWM. Bad for eyes and for working long periods of time. In addition, battery life on OLED thinkpads is garbage. I would go with the non-privacy low power 400 nits 100% color LCD option 10 out of 10 times if given the choice.

I have an older Thinkpad T15g Xeon with a 500 nit 4K OLED 60 Hz anti-reflective display.

I test all types of displays and it still has the best color, deep blacks, and minimal glare.

My suggestion is to wait for the 120 Hz version of this same display.

The only con is fan noise. For a no-fan movie experience, I plan to test the new 13" OLED iPad Pro.

From the link posted above (https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...559.0.html), the battery life is 10h 35m for surfing at 60% brightness, and 6h 54m at 100% brightness. Many other informative stats available. Recommended reading if you are interested in buying.
