Sony just isn't dropping the price on their older 4K catalog. What they tend to do is reissue them at higher price points in SteelBooks and limited editions.

Warner and Universal are more likely to drop prices on older releases.

Boutique outfits like Shout Factory and Kino aren't really in a position to significantly discount their 4K releases because they are paying licensing fees on top of manufacturing costs.

All the usual stuff. It's getting old. It's all the same price when it's in theaters, but the difference between studios for 4K lately is ridiculous. Doesn't seem to matter if it's new, old, or catalog titles. How the hell does the new Dune end up $9, but Zombieland DT is like 5 years old and never drops below $15? I think the newest Mission Impossible is actually cheaper than the original in 4K at times. FFS

Whaaaaat... Waterworld, Jupiter Ascending, and Creed II for $30. How are these cinematic gems even still in stock!!!

Seriously though, some great movies in there and some great examples of 4K BD.

Now, anybody got a deal on a 4K BD player???

SIGNUP20 code still gives 20% but for first time users. HAPPYANNY15 code doesn't work with this promo. It excludes multi-buys

What if the disc gets scratched... I'm thinking you'd better play it safe and get three copies of waterworld

Went ahead and picked up:
Scott Pilgrim
JP: The Lost World
The Thing

(I was considering picking up Scott Pilgrim this past week at $17ish anyway, so it sort of works out since the other two were on my list (albeit a bit lower)).

I was going to get Kong: Skull Island but honestly the upgrade over blu ray doesn't look that too impressive. Color is a bit up there but I think they did some DNR tho yeh?

I just got into the 4K game. Any movies that you DO NOT recommend (due to no visible/audible benefit over standard blu-ray)?

search YouTube for "Worst 4K" or something similar. You'll find a few videos from people like *Films at Home* and *cereal at midnight* .

also, as someone mentioned, blu-ray.com does a deep dive into each 4K release, as does https://ultrahd.highdefdigest.com...erall.html in a diff format.
