i literally do it myself this way with the same phone. My phone is a second account for ordering fast food deals and to play emulator games with a bluetooth controller a bsp d8 which does not have switch drift.

and buy a transfer sim at Walmart, Target, etc… activate this service on the new samsung then use the $1 transfer sim and the chat bot on their website (or call customer support) and transfer the service to the $1 sim
that way they tie a sim to a phone imei and not one sim to two different phones. I say this not due to personal experience but other people who have encounter problems with verizon when you do what you asked.
( this is unnecessary on t-mobile and t-mobile mvnos, signed someone who uses Mint Mobile 180 per year plus tax as my main phone, and use trad phones as backups and am traveling in places without t-mobile. Backups that become main phones after unlock, especially since deals like this are common.)

Never mind, it is locked but it unlocks really easily. Just put it #TFUNLOCK# in dial pad and it unlocks even without the 60 days passing.
