That is such a bad take coming from a "global mod/super moderator". You guys are pulling bait and switch scams now on top of shilling for random brands/companies. Why even have the expiration date set to 3/31 when you knew there was no realistic chance of it lasting anywhere near that long? Why even post this or make this promotion in the first place when its not going to be widely available? Should everyone start posting one off sales (only available in small quantities) that end prematurely?

Every time I start thinking SD isn't so bad after all, you guys pull some stuff like this and it reminds me to never forget my lesson. That's why I will never use your affiliate links to get anything posted here that I want. Always just go directly to the site and get the deal that way.
"Oops, should have mentioned the limit of 100 total redemptions in those 31 days." Funny they even bothered to set an end date if the limit of redemptions was so low. Might as well said coupon was good until 2032 or until 100 people use it.

I never tried it but it might be fun. To find new servers to join, you can Google "[insert topic here] Discord server." You can also use Discord's own search engine, but be aware that it doesn't track all servers, only the most popular ones. https://www.businessinsider.com/g...is-discord

The terms could have been clearer, but it's typical for eBay coupons to have an expiration date and funding limit, whichever comes first. eBay is not a retailer that has a big markup, it makes a commission of less than 20% so was losing money on every purchase. That's a slick deal, and whether the limit was a million or a billion it won't last long since we don't get to drive stores bankrupt unfortunately. It's disappointing to miss a deal, but the only thing to do is be happy for those who got in on it and look forward to the next deal, which could even be better.
BS flag. No mention of the limit. No YMMV. I suspect SD shills. Experiences like this will push me elsewhere.

Yeah, that was incredibly misleading.

After using eBay for nearly 25 years (account registered on March 11, 1999), this experience has genuinely made me reluctant to continue.

I don't know what their end goal was, but they've left me feeling crummy about their company (and crummy in general).
Don't forget to include Slickdeals in your frustration. This was targeted as campaign between the two companies. Both knew exactly what they were doing, trolling a shill deal for clicks. I'm actively looking for an alternative to SD. Both SD and eBay are old news.

While I get that you're talking about this deal, specifically, but taking ~15% off the top + $0.40 per item > $10 — currently $0.30 but raising it in two weeks — of every transaction just to broker a sale via their insufferable website, is downright criminal... Well, at least it should be, considering just how little they actually do; it's like automated facilitation but only when it goes bad, at best.

Not to mention they also charge store subscriptions or insertion fees, optional listing upgrades like setting a reserve ($5 even if it doesn't sell or 7.5% when it does, whichever is higher; incl fees for listings which use bold, subtitles, or are in multiple categories), advertising revenue, 'Classified Ad' fee of $9.95 for 30-day listing, a $20 dispute fee, and final value fees for not meeting their "performance expectations".

This doesn't include Real Estate or cars, as those have different price structures which can be more or less. Hell, there are a number of companies whose entire business consists of earning fees from just one of those streams of income (advertising remains > 3/4 of revenue for Google). They also treat sellers like crap, and one of their executives is in prison for harassing a couple [npr.org] whose blog and newsletter criticized ebay.
