Gonna have to sell some unused guitars and grab that maple board surf green.

They definitely manually work the fret ends, you can see all the rough file marks at the ends, and then they kinda gouged the fretboard on every fret as they curled the file around each fret end. Up close under the microscope it's not the best looking. Definitely not hot dog / rounded fret ends that a lot of the Chinese guitars are doing these days (and I doubt they're stainless steel like you get on a lot of those, too), but it plays and feels well. No sharp fret ends, very comfortable to play. The tops of the frets are so polished, you can't see a single defect, just shine.
At the end of the day, it's an American Fender with a ton of character. The tones are good. I haven't really read exactly which positions activate which pickups, and what the push push is supposed to do for each position, but I kinda flip through the positions and like the different sounds. You can get some nice twangy sounds from the single coils with a little bit of overdrive, and the bridge sounds awesome with distortion and reverb or delay.
My only complaint about the guitar is it's a little heavier than my last strat. It's fine once it's on my lap but I'm pretty sure there was a problem with their swamp ash supply recently so they went to alder. I love it even still. But if it were a couple pounds lighter you couldn't pull this guitar away from me.
