If you NEED the features this speaker brings to the table and just want a quick deal without thinking about it too much, yes, it is a well built option with good sound output and you could do far worse. As for myself, I've enjoyed the Xtreme lineup of speakers but ultimately sold all 3 of mine because I just couldn't justify keeping them with how good the competition is and the value so many other options bring. Some of this will come down to how you use your speaker and that's completely understandable. However, for the JBL fanboys that will inevitably respond to this comment with some snarky feedback; I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings and I'm glad you enjoy your speaker.
EDIT: Since people really just want to find things to complain about, here are a couple of my recommendations. After that, I'm happy to help people who actually want suggestions catered to their needs and everyone else can just keep finding something to complain about.
- Tribit StormBox Blast: ~$160
https://a.co/d/cfJppb9
- Soundcore Motion+: ~$70-$90
https://a.co/d/0UoZhof
- Harman Kardon Go+ Play 3: ~$130 (amazing deal currently here on Slickdeals and blows this JBL Xtreme 2 out of the water by way of sound quality)
- Tribit Stormbox Micro 2: ~$50
https://a.co/d/aNERFLb
- onn. Large Party Speaker Gen. 2: ~$120
https://www.walmart.com/ip/1212999628
Monoprice Soundstage 3 (portable): ~$200
https://www.monoprice.c
Monoprice Harmony Capsule 300 (if you can find them as they tend to go in and out of stock): ~$80
https://www.walmart.com/ip/837132319
Hopefully this very limited and still vague mishmash of random speakers I've enjoyed helps satisfy some folks. Any suggested speakers that cost more than the JBL Xtreme 2 on this deal are included because I believe they are better values for what you get. My opinion is not the end all, be all. I'm sharing in the hopes of helping others. Take that for what you will and best of luck.

Great deal for those that already have JBL speakers that use the JBL Connect+ feature. This speaker can sync up to these speakers for complete surround sound:
JBL Xtreme 2
JBL Pulse 3
JBL Charge 4
JBL Boombox
I have the JBL Boombox, and a couple friends have the Pulse 3s. This is just gonna add to the party!

I would say that if you want something light enough to be portable, but still puts out big sound with plenty of battery, take a closer look at the Ultimate Ears HYPERBOOM. We were somewhat skeptical when we picked one up a while ago, but we have been very impressed with it so far. It's more expensive (more competitive with the JBL Xtreme 3 than the 2), but if you can pick it up for less than $300 I would say it's worth a try. The sound fidelity is surprisingly good, even at loud volumes, which is more than I can say about some of the other bluetooth speakers we have had.
To say that either of them have, "poor sound" is so counter to anything I've experienced with them that this comment almost seems like it was made as a sarcastic joke that maybe went over my head?
Alan Ross isn't my favorite reviewer necessarily but I can't deny his data and methodology. He just released another praiseworthy video on the Harman Kardon within the last 24 hours.
https://youtu.be/ktjCIpky_Lg?si=
You can find a ridiculous number of review videos of him putting the Soundcore Motion+ up against the competition for years and it is always topping the list or, at the very least, a strong contender.
Like I said, my opinion is not the end all be all of sound but to just say those specific two (highly praised/reviewed) speakers have, "poor sound" and then drop the mic doesn't inspire me to reconsider any positions I've taken on the matter.
