Good speaker but there are far better values to be had. I have had dozens upon dozens of Bluetooth speakers and far too much premium and/or budget sound equipment over the years. There is far too much competition to recommend this speaker at this price if you are willing to shop for a good deal and watch some YouTube reviews of the competition.

If you NEED the features this speaker brings to the table and just want a quick deal without thinking about it too much, yes, it is a well built option with good sound output and you could do far worse. As for myself, I've enjoyed the Xtreme lineup of speakers but ultimately sold all 3 of mine because I just couldn't justify keeping them with how good the competition is and the value so many other options bring. Some of this will come down to how you use your speaker and that's completely understandable. However, for the JBL fanboys that will inevitably respond to this comment with some snarky feedback; I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings and I'm glad you enjoy your speaker.

EDIT: Since people really just want to find things to complain about, here are a couple of my recommendations. After that, I'm happy to help people who actually want suggestions catered to their needs and everyone else can just keep finding something to complain about.

- Tribit StormBox Blast: ~$160
https://a.co/d/cfJppb9

- Soundcore Motion+: ~$70-$90
https://a.co/d/0UoZhof

- Harman Kardon Go+ Play 3: ~$130 (amazing deal currently here on Slickdeals and blows this JBL Xtreme 2 out of the water by way of sound quality)

- Tribit Stormbox Micro 2: ~$50
https://a.co/d/aNERFLb

- onn. Large Party Speaker Gen. 2: ~$120
https://www.walmart.com/ip/1212999628

Monoprice Soundstage 3 (portable): ~$200
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=43666

Monoprice Harmony Capsule 300 (if you can find them as they tend to go in and out of stock): ~$80
https://www.walmart.com/ip/837132319

Hopefully this very limited and still vague mishmash of random speakers I've enjoyed helps satisfy some folks. Any suggested speakers that cost more than the JBL Xtreme 2 on this deal are included because I believe they are better values for what you get. My opinion is not the end all, be all. I'm sharing in the hopes of helping others. Take that for what you will and best of luck.

I agree. I haven't checked out the tribit but our W-King 80 watt (peak 110 watt) RMS kicks hard for a lot less ($110 -$7 coupon).

This is a great speaker I use it to annoy my neighbors by placing it in my kitchen window facing the side of their house and blasting opra all night long

Any experience with Klipsch KMC3? Wondering if the HK go deal is a worthwhile upgrade.
TIA!

Surprisingly, I had to look the Klipsch KMC3. It looks like an older one that was a beast for its time. At the very least, I would not blame you for giving the HK a try while it is on sale. The HK, Tribit Stormbox Blast, or Monoprice Soundstage 3 listed above might be the best to consider in this situation for updated Bluetooth and trying something new. It is hard to recommend trying anything other than the HK right now at its current price. It pretty much destroys everything in terms of value for $130.

I just got the Harman Kardon Go+ Play 3. It's the size of a school bus but it is badass!

Agreed. I'm thoroughly impressed with the HK Go+ Play 3. I have larger speakers but this is probably the most compelling option I can think of at this price point. The only thing that should hold anyone back is the design as it is definitely intended to be a premium indoor speaker and has no ruggedized build qualities to speak of. It is a no-brainer at the current sale price in comparison to anything else (without considering water resistance or durability)

In for one, thanks OP!

Great deal for those that already have JBL speakers that use the JBL Connect+ feature. This speaker can sync up to these speakers for complete surround sound:

JBL Xtreme 2
JBL Pulse 3
JBL Charge 4
JBL Boombox

I have the JBL Boombox, and a couple friends have the Pulse 3s. This is just gonna add to the party!

I have personal experiences with some of your recommendations and disagree with them. The motion+ and Harmon Kardon in particular have very poor sound.

Good thread with some good data, thanks everyone who contributed!

I would say that if you want something light enough to be portable, but still puts out big sound with plenty of battery, take a closer look at the Ultimate Ears HYPERBOOM. We were somewhat skeptical when we picked one up a while ago, but we have been very impressed with it so far. It's more expensive (more competitive with the JBL Xtreme 3 than the 2), but if you can pick it up for less than $300 I would say it's worth a try. The sound fidelity is surprisingly good, even at loud volumes, which is more than I can say about some of the other bluetooth speakers we have had.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. However, it is somewhat odd to hear that you chose two of the most strong entries on that list as having, "poor sound" lol. The Motion+ alone has had fairly widespread praise for years as an extremely versatile speaker with full EQ customization through the app (that many people neglect). While the Harman Kardon Go+ Play 3 isn't perfect for everyone, it is probably the ultimate value in a high quality speaker that can be had right now.

To say that either of them have, "poor sound" is so counter to anything I've experienced with them that this comment almost seems like it was made as a sarcastic joke that maybe went over my head?

Alan Ross isn't my favorite reviewer necessarily but I can't deny his data and methodology. He just released another praiseworthy video on the Harman Kardon within the last 24 hours.

https://youtu.be/ktjCIpky_Lg?si=PSUEOwb8nJmneEsz

You can find a ridiculous number of review videos of him putting the Soundcore Motion+ up against the competition for years and it is always topping the list or, at the very least, a strong contender.

Like I said, my opinion is not the end all be all of sound but to just say those specific two (highly praised/reviewed) speakers have, "poor sound" and then drop the mic doesn't inspire me to reconsider any positions I've taken on the matter.

I've had the speaker for years and paid double. It's been in numerous lakes pools rivers and oceans. It's been in the dirt and in the sand. It's fallen 10 ft to the ground a bunch. It sounds great too! My only complaint is that uses a AC adapter with a barrel connector that uses a proprietary charging protocol which made it pretty difficult to figure out a DC charging via USBC. That of course isn't something most people care about or even understand what that means though.
