A Tesla model Y long range has ~75kWh battery. This has a 3.6kWh battery and there will be some loss when charging. So call it adding approximately 4% charge to a Tesla.

If you have the smallest tesla battery and drive only 50 miles a day you would only need 9 400 watt solar panels to charge your battery operated car. Really folks, these toys have enormous batteries and will become an unsustainable burden on our already delicate power grid especially in California. https://8billiontrees.com/carbon-...ar-panels/

Note that this listing is for three 400w panels....so the investment would be 7500.....plus a 10% coupon is available in a lot of places.

Are these energy rebate eligible?

The Q&A section of the product page has responses from the manufacturer stating that only 1x400W panel is included. Their 3.5hr charge time with 3x400W image is misleading, as the 1x400W charge time is over 10 hours.

If you are saving $0.30 per kWh, each charge is like saving $1. It will take 2400 charges to make up the money that you spent on this deal.

I think you'd be more likely to want to charge your house from your EV in an emergency

How about for people who have an EV that live in an apartment and you left this outside in direct sunlight for a few days to continuously charge. I know it's not optimal but for an emergency if power went out.

Don't be so dramatic, a Tesla mY averages 3.3mi/kwh. So 50 miles a day is 15Kwh. Kids gaming on high powered PCs are using more than that each day and I don't see anyone villainizing them. People have to go to work, they can spend $1 to do that or $4 on that gallon of gasoline. The grid needs to adapt.

Only to have your expensive solar panel(s) get stolen? No way would I consider doing this.

This is a great deal! I won't tell you what I paid in 2023 for the 3.6kw delta pro. Got a 1/3 off with the tax deduction. Thing is rock solid. I can power all the 120 volt circuits in my house with it. Thanks to nat gas I have no 220v.
