Major outdoor clothing company Patagonia quietly operating liberal dark money group hit with FEC complaint
According to the complaint filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), a collective of climate-focused tax-exempt groups — which altogether hold 98% of Patagonia's nonvoting shares worth nearly $1.8 billion — misidentified political contributions made to Democrat political action committees in 2022.
Patagonia has donated a couple hundred thousand toward political groups that align with their mission statement of preserving the earth (what a surprise!). Companies contributing to American PACs is nothing new (i.e. the tobacco industry fighting regulation for 60 years from the 30s through the 90s, the oil industry doing the same from the 70s through today, etc.)
The FEC complaint quoted by other posters here (from a Fox News article) may be as simple as a paperwork error on the recipients end. Taken directly from the very same Fox News article the other posters are quoting: "Corley Kenna suggested the misidentifications in the FEC filings could be the result of an error made by the recipient political action committees."
But sure, a headline using words and phrases like "liberal" and "dark money" is much punchier for their target demographic who love to be outraged but can't be bothered to read beyond the first paragraph or headline 😀
In for 2 hats!

Because who wants to conserve the great outdoors for the next generation right?
Saving the great outdoors, by importing clothing from overseas and causing massive pollution, then putting massive mark ups so that people on lower incomes can't afford it. So waspy.

Buy those hats from overseas and keep causing pollution! You are a stalwart of irony.
