The first had had the G2 bots before. The only thing they had now was G2 Grimlock, which had a clearance shelf tag of 44.40 but scanned at 34.40. Passed on it because it is just so ugly. I just couldn't.
They did have Cloudcover (seeker repaint) that has G2 in the name, but was regular price at 34.97.
The other Wal-Mart didn't have a single G2 bot. They did have Legacy Animated Prime (only time I've seen that one). Oh, and McFarlane Super Powers were now $6.
G2 Laser Optimus Prime, repainted to RID Scourge (Car Robots Nemesis Prime), repainted as this. Its a great mold. The bot looks good, the alt mode looks good, its a simple transformation. Theres a reason they are still using a mold from almost 30 years ago. All 3 of those have been released in the past year or so, and each is worth grabbing if you find them at a good price, I think.
You are correct. I apologize for the bit of information to everyone. Owning all 3 of these, i think the mold is close enough to the original to conaider it the same in my mind. The main difference, to me, is the paint job. I really wanted the loud obnoxious laser Prime trailer. 😅
