Well I know the guy who owns the one near me. This experience was on a road trip so I'm not 100% sure. Usually if the worker is over 40 and in a random subway in a small town working with a bunch of teenagers and operating the register and dressed up more than the other employees. That's the owner or at least someone with a financial stake or incentive to dislike the B1G1 deals. I have better luck getting a decent sandwich if I avoid 'that guy'. YMMV

Yup. Though some of the shop owners don't like it. Did a B1G1 yesterday and paid for extra meat. Got less than the regular amount and the guy was rude to me. Don't know why they accept these then get mad about it. I try to order when owner isn't working and I get much better portions. For this one I was on road trip so took the risk and basically got a load of bread with a couple slices of turkey on it lol.

Gift cards are an accounting liability of the company. You've essentially loaned it money expecting you'll be paid back in company merchandise on demand. When a company is bought, its assets and liabilities typically transfer to the new owner. Not accepting gift cards would be tantamount to an owner declaring that it will default on its loan. Only companies going into bankruptcy proceedings towards liquidation ever really do this.

Do they still have the buy a footlong and get 2nd footlong free deals like last year? Basically the codes would be recycled back and forth. I would eat at subway every week getting this deal.

When a company is bought, they will "deactivate" your giftcard to make it appear like you have a zero balance. Most people won't realize they still have a balance

I was able to do this through chrome too in my online account. The downside was that I had to manually enter all the cards first. The app probably lets you scan the qr code, but I don't want the app.

I used to go to subway all the time just for tuna subs until the news broke that it may not really be tuna. I know it's been a while, but the last time I checked I saw so many conflicting reports- it is real/it's not real.. what's the verdict? Anyone else get tuna here?

Worked at Subway many many moons ago. The tuna they serve is the same crap as what's in the tin cans at your grocery store. You can probably make it way better than how Subway prepares it as Subway just opens the cans of tuna and tosses them into a tub with a bag of mayo and mixes it all together.

But if you're not expecting it to be like your mother's tuna salad, not an issue. In for 4.
